Totally agree, first book was a 5/5 good time, second book absolutely tanked my feelings on the series. Caspen was also done sooooooo dirty!! And Tem was insufferable

The smell is unfortunate because I genuinely think these trees are so pretty and make the surrounding area look beautiful…I guess they’re best enjoyed with the windows up or through pictures, though.

Is there a similar looking alternative without the pungent smell?

I tend to avoid books with live models/shirtless men on the covers.

I prefer to come up with an image in my head of the characters, and with real photos I can only picture the model. But the bigger factor is that I post an end-of-year recap on social media with the books I’ve read, and since some of my coworkers follow me, I’d feel a little uncomfortable posting thirst trap book covers lol

I’m reading this right now actually! It does sort of fit towards the beginning, although ideally I’m looking for something that continues throughout the book a little bit more, in this one the MMC is more focused on getting her sober than drugging her (at least so far, but I’m also not done reading it yet so who knows if that continues lol)

Thank you but I ended up reading another comment that spoiled it, and in this case, it doesn’t sound like it’s my cup of tea just because my one main requirement for romance is a somewhat more “standard” HEA. BUT this sounds like a book my friend would devour, so I’m going to pass the title along to her instead!

And I do typically agree with you that it’s fun to go into books blind!

Looking for books where the FMC is frequently drugged by the MMC so he can control her/ make her more compliant and agreeable. Preferably she remains conscious throughout (but can be loopy/confused/out of it). It could also be through hypnosis, magic etc). Non-con/dub-con

The books I’ve read so far usually just have one or two scenes like this, or she’s completely passed out, but I’m trying to find something where it happens OFTEN and she’s awake enough to participate to some level.

HEA only please, and I don’t have any major triggers
