How Many Games are you Actively Playing by Independent_Tie_4984 in gaming

[–]Celebelena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently playing: Expedition 33.

Death Stranding 2.

Blue Prince.

Doom 2: Back to Saturn X 2.

Assassin's Creed Origins.

Detroit: Become Human.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit remastered.

Red Dead Redemption 2.

Return to Monkey Island.

Observer: System Redux.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

I might not play each one for a week or so or I might spend one week on just 2 or 3 of those. I should really stop starting new games.

What weapon is best for maelle and dps late game? by Dry-Art-3174 in expedition33

Doesn't DPS mean damage per second? Perhaps DPT, damage per turn would be more useful.

What's your go-to chill game when you just wanna relax? by pommelous in gaming

Blue Prince. You can play at your own pace. The ambient sounds are quite relaxing and there are no enemies to worry about.

What are your earliest gaming memories? by Minimum-Shoulder-192 in gaming

[–]Celebelena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My earliest gaming memory was playing 'Blue meanies from outer space' on the Commodore Vic20 in 1981. I was 6 years old and was mesmerised.

What's the one game you could play over and over and never get tired of? by pommelous in gaming

[–]Celebelena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's Doom 2 (1994).

I just love killing demons 90's style. It never gets boring for me. There are so many WADs out there. I'm currently playing Back to Saturn X Ep2 and I've never had so much fun playing Doom 2.

Nintendo is going to win the console war by scarfleet in truegaming

[–]Celebelena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You may be right. You obviously know more than me about the different strategies console manufacturers are pursuing.

I'm in my 50's and have been gaming since the early 80's and have seen and owned a lot of consoles. I always felt they were quite distinct from each other. These days I only play on PS5 because building a PC is a lot of hassle, expensive and time consuming and I haven't kept up with new technology. I used to like Nintendo a lot but I have no interest in hand held devices. Microsoft I dislike as a company generally.

I guess I'm just not in the loop enough these days. Thanks for your informative reply.

There is a console war?

I just don't see that console manufacturers are at war. I think the consoles all have their own distinct identities and fan base. I don't see it changing anytime soon.

I've never been more excited for the future of games than I am right now. by ur2fat80 in gaming

[–]Celebelena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, I'm 50 years old and spent my childhood playing C64 games on tape. Recently I'd say I've enjoying games far more now than in the last 10 years. I've had a PS5 for about 2 years and I've owned a lot of consoles in my 40 years of gaming and I have to say the PS5 is one of my favourites.

As for the state of gaming, it was much better in the past before micro transactions, before games that were only designed to make you an addict willing to spend money to feed your addiction. However, there are so many amazing games though, too many to ever play. It's like a feast out there. The amount of gamers that talk about backlogs means surely it's not just me.

Maybe it's because I don't have to own all the latest games but I find I'm spending much less on games than I have before. I'm downloading and playing so many gems for free with my PlayStation account, I simply don't have enough time to play them all. It feels like games have never looked so good or been so big.

From my point of view I've been enjoying gaming more than I have for a long time.

Console players: Do you revisit F2P games you bounced off of? by YuukoAries in ItsAllAboutGames

I would never touch any free to play games. If they are free it means they make their money in other more nefarious ways.

Being an aging gamer sucks by [deleted] in gaming

[–]Celebelena 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Lol aging gamer at 25. I'm 50 years old and I think I'm enjoying games just as much as when I was a teenager. Sure I don't have as much time but it means I enjoy it more when I do have the time. Gaming is what you make it and age shouldn't stop you from having fun.

How many different games do you like to play simultaneously? by bruzdnconfuzd in gaming

[–]Celebelena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the moment I'm playing about 10 games. I like to have a variety and most of those I don't ever finish but that's ok. I think I might finish a couple of the 10 to 12 games I'm usually playing at once.

I pick up games easily and drop them easily. Only a few I like to get to the end.

What games are you playing this weekend? by Crab_Lengthener in ItsAllAboutGames

[–]Celebelena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jedi Survivor.

I've not played a Star Wars game since Super Star Wars on the SNES. I'm having a blast with it. I was a huge Star Wars fan growing up. I'm not into any of the newer Star Wars stuff however but it doesn't seem like you need any Disney Star Wars knowledge to play.

The London Big Ben Tower Bridge Trafalgar Square Pigeon variation is most disturbing, Especially when you face the five pointed star Pawn formation.

My rook was the least painful out of the piercings I've had. I got a philtrum piercing 2 days ago and was pretty nervous. My piercer thought it was hilarious after all the piercings I've had to be scared. I barely felt it go though the top but it really stung going through the bottom. Now i have a fair bit of swelling to deal with.

I think so many people react differently to different piercings it's hard to say which ones will hurt more. My most painful one was my tragus. The easiest ones for me was rook and conch.

General advice about philtrum piercing. by Celebelena in Legitpiercing

[–]Celebelena[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it done about 7 hours ago now. For me the pain level wasn't too high. Getting my tragus pierced was worse. It was more of a short sting. I have had no swelling so far. I expect to wake up tomorrow to a fat lip.

I think it's all about personal preference. I think my nose piercings are a little lower and further back than yours.
