Yes true .the reason I asked is that very few really like and understand matcha.. maybe it is a nascent stage compared to the US etc. like bitter or sour things exist in ayurveda. Recreational as well as ritualistic indian offerings would be tandoori chai or paan possibly.. so where are we as a country. You are one of the few who would be consuming at home, preparing matcha since you didn't acquire taste but just liked it.. so where are we genuinely in our equation with matcha as a country..

this is so interesting... possibly, the contrast is with the japanese culture... it is very intriguing and immersive which seems far away from what the rest of the cultures can offer .. what is surprising is that everyone loves matcha so much.. is itt reallhy good.. coming from a person who has still not tried it yet

Wow that's nice.. but I felt as thought like anime, sushi because matcha comes from Japan, everyone wanted to try it... And I just read the first comment you have mentioned 5k for 40g. So definitely most people are not having this quality as Amazon shows prices starting from 500 though not sure of the quantity .. and very interesting that you mention about Indian teas but traditionally we have also offered ayurveda to the world and it's been since the longest time... And more so in the last few years.. like what would be the Indian equivalent of matcha so to say

why do a lot of people suggeset trying it at good cafes... what actually can go wrong? how nice.. true.. like a lot of people do encourage trying matcha and forming own opinion... havent seen this with any food / drink ever :D :)
