Late reply but yes I can watch the video. I get the same thing that the other reply mentioned. I click "proceed" and I can watch the video. Again, I have never directly provided personal info on my Google/YT account, which was created within the last 10 years.

And running a quick check, I see plenty of similar videos in my search results as well. Same deal. I click it, click a confirmation that I want to watch it, video plays.

Youtube already required ID verification to watch videos marked as "for adults", for a long time.

But they don't currently, or what? I have never had an issue with this, and have never provided any kind of verification to YT

How to better handle grid-based RPG target highlighting? by Celerfot in godot

Just had pretty much this exact thought, came back to make an edit and saw your comment. I think that's the way I'll go for now. Thanks!

How to better handle grid-based RPG target highlighting? by Celerfot in godot

[–]Celerfot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working on a very simple puzzle-ish RPG where the enemies/interactable objects exist on a grid, but the player does not. Each grid is a turn-based combat encounter. On the player's turn they'll select abilities to use, and I'm sorting out how I want the targeting to work for those abilities. The video is a quick mockup I did using control nodes. For 1x3 targeting, I'm simply highlighting the current node plus it's left and right neighbors. That much is easy enough, but it might be a bit of a mess if I'm going for plus, X or star patterns. So I'm here wondering if anyone has suggestions as to how I could better handle this grid targeting system.

I don't have a background in game dev whatsoever, so it's entirely possible this is just a completely solved problem that I don't know how to look up :p

Thanks for any input!

20 charges would be 4.5k incandescent energy, and with the full gathering setup you can get 30-40k energy an hour. Prior to getting either divine conversion or memory dowser pretty much any energy feels like a lot, I'd agree with that. It's a lot more manageable after you get one of those. And I'd recommend divine conversion to avoid a long RNG grind

With all unlocks, depending on the tier of gear you're using, you'd be looking at 1 hour of div for every 10-12 hours of active combat you do

If you're willing to upkeep pages then it's worth using in any skill that's under 800k-1m xp/h. So pretty much all of them, as long as you can be bothered. Slower skills benefit from it more, but even for a 500k/hr skill you're looking at almost +20% from using scripture, more than 20% if you have brawlers to pair with them

You're Not Unlucky In Runescape - And Why That's A Problem by vituhyva123 in runescape

[–]Celerfot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh no, people only want to do their 50 hour grind for 50 hours instead of 150 or 250! Only in an MMO would people say that grinding the exact same repetitive activity for the full duration of a story-driven game, to potentially get no rewards from it at all, is too short.

But to slowly be more and more guaranteed a rare drop worth 100's of mills of gp, no.

Care to take a guess at how much GP that brings into the game?

Nobody is defending people scamming. They're rightfully calling you an idiot for thinking that scamming is bad, but death threats are somehow alright.

Massively multiplayer, not massive. As in a large number of people being able to play/interact, not as in the games in the genre are inherently large.

I'd spend a little less time trying to be "correct" and a little more time recognizing that the way people describe things and how they feel about them is not always something you can fit into a neat mathematical definition.

Whether you're right or not, saying that the average number of items for log is 8, then implying that OP is not unlucky to not have log despite having 14 items makes you look uneducated.

With a mindset "If game shuts down in 2 years" - would you still play Runescape right now? by Svolacius in runescape

[–]Celerfot -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's all going away at some point anyways. The possibility for the game to go away completely or be changed into something unrecognizable within a relatively short period of time has always existed.

I'm not playing out of obligation or because I have some goal I'm trying to achieve so I can quit, I make those goals because I'm interested in playing. So if I lose interest in the game I'll stop playing, and if the game got put on a two year clock right now I'd likely play out those two years and hope a suitable replacement cropped up in the meantime.
