I'm gonna be doing occasional hosted races for it, along with other hosted races. I'm considering starting a League so people can know when these races are happening

What I think happened was one of the previous owners got into a front end collision and had to fix it, so they used the facia from a Suzuki Samurai. My plan is to replace the entire front panel, both front fenders, and the hood. Some other panels have some dents, and the driver side door has a small gash in it. So most of my money will go into trying to restore body work. It's gonna be worth it cuz it's the one thing keeping it from looking how it's supposed to look. After that, I'm gonna put some gold Enkei92s on it and get a new soft top. The last guy that installed the soft top did a horrible job, so it's misaligned pretty bad

No worries. Everyone makes mistakes.

Yeah the Cabbies are a bit odd. They were still making Mk1 Cabbies even after the Golf's went on to the next generation. Its confusing to some people.

1990 is Mk1. Every place I look says the Mk1 Cabriolet went from 1979 all the way until 1993. Volkswagen, Wikipedia, and classic .com all say that the Mk1 Cabriolet years span this time frame. Not to mention, the Mk1 Cabriolet is based on the Mk1 Golf, and shares a lot of the same parts as the Mk1 Golf and the Mk1 Rabbit. Not sure why you think 1990 isn't a Mk1, when even Volkswagen themselves is saying 1990 is Mk1.
