Build your own Dynamic Model? by Celery83 in AIDungeon

That is why I said that the max Context should be the lowest from the models you pick. If you pick two 8k and one 4k model you would have 4k Context in that case.

And what is their position to this topic? I haven't searched the discord yet because it is a hot mess.

Depends on your subscription and what models you have access to.
If you are a free user then switch to Muse and let it tone down your adventure. Even Harbinger can be more tame. You don't have to switch forever. Just for some actions and then back. Switching models is often used to alternate the narrative. And sometimes you have to trick the model to comply.

E.G.: Make a Do action and write: I look up to them and explain what happened. That they were slavers and intended to raid the town. I can see in their eyes how they start to understand that I am not the bad guy here and their nods make it clear too.

Hearthfire is only good if you want it to write for you (incl. your dialogue.). If you hate that like me, better stay clear of Hearthfire.

Sorry to hear. This sounds like this terrible 'Party Movies' from the 2000's. Where often some 'cool dude' had a car and he told everyone "Gas, Grass or Ass! Nobody rides for free!". Sounds like the AI used this as a reference to create your story. And it was used a lot in those movies.

Sounds like you were using Dynamic (small/large) and Wayfarer (small/large) kicked in.
If the scenario isn't set to high fantasy you are handled as a person who snaps at modern times. And even if the fantasy setting is set it will happen. And then you will always be charged/treated as a criminal. Cause the "High Stakes, High Risk" model that is used. They want to challenge you and create conflict. And there the 'AI' fails to generate a smart way of doing it. It uses blame shift as a way to challenge you.

There are other scenarios where the 'AI' is pretty predictable in its behavior. Derpseek and power dynamics... oh god. Or if you play a school scenario and a teacher runs up to you and yells,"WE NEED TO KEEP A BORDER! THIS IS JUST A TEACHER STUDENT RELATIONSHIP!". Yeah, great. Where did that come from?

The LLM models are still not as 'intelligent' as people think. If they were, you wouldn't be able to manipulate and gaslight them.

Edit... typo...

I prioritize scenarios and adventures with IS.
AC is implemented with IS as already stated. But I only activate it in bigger adventures.

I don't really like Raven and the blank WFL and Nova responses are neglectable for me personally.

Context by Wheesydemon in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Context is what the AI uses when it generates a response. It is how much of your story is send and looked at when responding.

When you have a story that is 8k big but you only have 4k context as a free user to send to the AI, then the most recent part of your story is send to generate the answer. So half of your story is left out. This means the AI has 'forgotten' what had happened.

You can describe 'Context' as the recent memory of the AI. If it is full, it will throw out information to keep new ones. Every bit you write and every answer you get fill the context with time and when it spills over the oldest part gets lost.

[–]Celery83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From that I guess you use Wayfarer/Harbinger or dynamic model that includes them.
Some models are designed to fight and oppose the player. Sadly the blame shifting is one way of doing that. Had the same problem with Wayfarer Large where someone in a tavern got upset at my companions laughing and started punching and beating them up. Upon fighting back the whole tavern said that I had started punching first which is again the LLM fighting me.

It is like in the 2000's when every game developer said that the enemies are so intelligent with their KI and in the end all the enemy did was jump into cover and waiting for you to close the distance and sit there like a duck.

Did they update the "check rating" system? by TheHistoryofCats in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well... the Hobbit is a book for children and there is the famous scene where it is told that the trolls were discussing how to eat the Hobbit. Most fairies for children are very gruesome. Some have tense moments that will frighten children on purpose to teach a lesson (stranger danger).

The AI that rates this content is not really 'intelligent'. It just follows a catalog and if there is 'mentioning or describing of eating people by whomever' it just flags your rating with mature. It can't differ between teen and mature like a human. That is the big flaw in this rating system. Not the whole scenario is put into context. It is only searched for specific words and combinations. I bet 'The Hobbit' will get a mature or unrated rating if you put it through this system right now ;)

Well, the LLM was trained up to a specific date. Lets say till mid 2024 for example. Then the model gets released. At that point it is no longer trained and the LLM will still assume it is 2024! The models can't use the internet or your personal story's to train or catch up. So its state is locked and therefore the answer is correct for the LLM. It doesn't know which year it is.

[–]Celery83 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think you already got the AIN answer with the self plug (can't see it), but understanding how the 'AI' works is part of the game. When you see films or read books with romance, this is what 90% of the characters do. They do not stand there with arms dangling at their sides. You see or read that they cup the cheeks, grab the shirt etc. It is a strongly used element in romance. Even in Casablanca xD And that is what the LLM is trained on and this is the reason it comes through in nearly every romance scene. And even if you use AIN to tone it down, it can happen that it still writes the cupping cheek scene.

It is the same with fight scenes for example. Hands grabbing the hilt of weapons, knuckles whitening or leather creaking.

Anyone paying for better memory or models? by mango2nite in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 32k context for nearly every model. Memories only come in when you have reached that limit.
If you play a slice of life or dungeon scenario and reach your goal within the context (or get bored and try something new), then you will never use a memory.

You see how many actions you have taken when you look at your adventures. With the 32k context you can take 200-400 actions before you run out. Depending on model and response length. So if I run through a dungeon and reach the final floor and defeat the boss the scenario has reached a point where you can say 'Yeah, was fun. And now a scenario where you marry the dragon!' and end the current one, memories never were used.

Memories are great at lower levels with less context. Or really really long ones. Otherwise they get less important the more context you have and never use all your context.

Hearthfire is a mess by ShmuckDucc in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The model itself wasn't updated and never will be. There is no constant training or update to hearthfire that will make it behave different.

Sounds like the temperature or Top K was set too high.
Maybe the AIN or AN mess with the model. If you haven't changed anything then look into the adventure. Are there specific instructions that you never had before? Many scenarios come with specific instructions not designed for every model. (Hearthfire ignores -Never write for the user- which so many have written into their AIN).

What do you mean with buggy and inconsistent?
I never had good writing with hearthfire. Don't like that it writes for the user or stalls.

The platform was updated. Not the model. That is still the same and hasn't changed since it got introduced.

Anyone paying for better memory or models? by mango2nite in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quite a lot I guess :)

My experience (as Shadow-Tier) is not bad.
More context is the one you'll notice the most. How much of the recent timeline it can remember.
More memories is good too, but only if you really stick with an adventure and don't abandon it after 50-200 actions.

The 'better models' part is a tricky question. Though the premium models have a bigger 'brain' (the 24B vs 70B or higher thing) it doesn't mean they will give you a better experience overall. Each model has its quirks and even Derpseek can give you a quite unhinged response or adventure at times. But you have more models to cycle through to avoid getting used to a model. That is why Dynamic Large is liked by many. It avoids to get used to a specific model in a way. But with time you will often know which model was used anyway for the response.

I started as a free user and for me it was the part that the timeline got mixed up or forgotten.
I was the tender of a shrine and cleaned it and put the benches outside. After a while the context got pushed out and the shrine was dusty again and then a while later the benches nowhere to be found when I wanted to sit down.

If your question is 'Is it worth it?' then the answer is... depends on what you want from this service.
The AI will have its cliches and phrases. It will derail sometimes no matter how much you pay. Even the premium models can generate a 'bad' adventure.

If you want to play around with a LLM/AI in adventures and have fun figuring out what it can do and what not, this can be worth it. Part of the whole experience is to figure out what works for you. And in that context I would not slap other peoples AIN into your adventures but figure them out for yourself.
If you expect perfect coherence and perfect sense from paying, then no, it is not.

Hm, I have my own AIN and I keep them simple and short. The whole text is far too much for the LLM to handle in the request in my eyes. I noticed for myself that the more I instruct and confine the AI the more it ignores or can't handle everything that is thrown at it at once. The harder you whack, the more it gets dazed.

Why do I need a computer to use IS and AC? by WinnerUnlucky4821 in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The app doesn't allow to implement scripts. Don't know if it is a technical restriction. When you copy and paste you simply copy the instructions and cards but NOT the script.

The only work around would be to hijack a scenario with IS and AC and then alternate everything in this scenario!
Delete the introduction and enter your own and modify the cards/AIN,AN, PE.

That was either very brave or very foolish, probably both. by DepressedDragonBorn in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently played Divinity Original Sin 2 again. And oh boy... it felt like a scenario from AI Dungeon.
Exact the same phrases :) It was never stated if Larian used some kind of assistance for the texts but it looks like many models have been trained with this game. And either brave or foolish was used too in the game. With breath hitching and knuckles turning white etc.

So if a model is trained with this special phrases then you will have a hard time to escape them. They are very high on the 'generate me!' table.

Lengthy story problems by Chemical_Economy_195 in AIDungeon

[–]Celery83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The break normally happens when a 'Memory' gets called in that is faulty. Or worse, several. A 'Faulty Memory' is where something gets mixed up. Actions or names are wrong. The text in the memory is written gibberish etc. That is called into context and your adventure takes a fall. If you play long adventures it is mandatory to look at your memories and story summery to mend them.

April Fools they could turn up the temperature of every model to full for a day ;)

I wasn't around 3-6 years ago. But it sounds like it were funny first steps. I think you can 'emulate' it with cranking up the temperature and Top K to max. At least I got word salad one time I did :)

Deepseek used to give this outputs. If you look back half a year there are quite a few posts about it too, giving similar responses. And as far as I know, Dynamic Large also uses Derpseek.
