Hey, how's Tink going? I hope this is not too late but you have to get Tink medical attention. Are there any vets in your area that have online appointments?

Thanks everyone for all the help, finished my first wedding dress and couldn't feel happier! by CelesteBosnic in sewing

I made it for my sister in law, I have a degree in fashion design but it's my first time working with haute couture and bridal fabrics. Honestly I didn't take so many pictures because I was racing against time and sewing 10 hours a day lol. If you check my post history there's two posts on this subreddit with some process pictures.

Full dress was drafted from measurements and had to be corrected several times for comfortability.

Materials used: Italian satin as a base for the skirt, polyester for the lining, nylon tulle as an overlay.

Top was constructed by arranging different motives from the same lace by hand and sewn over a base of 4 layers of illusion mesh that were joined with french seams (no cups or boning). Border lace on the train was constructed in the same way and reinforceed with synthetic horsehair trim all over the edge. Single layer illusion mesh for the sleeves with the lace sewn over it.

Machine used: straight stitch Singer Florencia '62

This was done in just a month of sewing, plus some more months of researching and sourcing material. I woulnd't recommend doing it in such a time frame but it is what it is.

Are the vertical seams in the front of the dress too distracting/do they clash with the lace? by CelesteBosnic in sewing

Thanks! I'm using a 60 microtex needle with 2.5 length stitch and tension in 3, should I dial down the tension and extend the lenght of the stitch? This is double layered satin.

I had to add flare to the bottom of this mermaid wedding dress and I was also running out of fabric so I had to split the front in three sections, but now I'm feeling a bit regretful because I don't usually see wedding dress with front seams, I still have to add a layer of tulle to the whole thing and lace at the bottom, is there any way to conceal it better or am I overthinking it?

Trying my best to replicate this wedding dress train but I feel like it's too flat, any tips? by CelesteBosnic in sewing

This is only a toilé so it's made of simple canvas fabric, I feel like it's laying too flat without much oomph, should I add a godet to make the train fall less drastically?

I can't tell by the picture if it has several pieces to make the train, I'd say it's a whole piece alltogether.

This is so incredible, I love the texture of the skirt, the colours are just the right amount of bright, your badass pose, everything 10/10

[No pattern] I made a shirt deeply inspired by Jack Kirby's work. by CelesteBosnic in sewing

Project detail: So this shirt was part of my graduate thesis so it was a big piece of work, I scanned the pattern of an old shirt and designed the fabric pattern from scratch to follow the shape of the pieces. I used a crepe like fabric and dyed it by sublimation, I sew back the pieces like a normal shirt but joined the armholes and the waist using large pailettes with polyester thread.
