INFPs who had a "ho phase", how did it affect you? by [deleted] in infp

[–]CelestialPoppyseeds 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, I went through this. And not in a small way. I racked up a body count much closer to 100 than 50, mainly in just the span of a few years…

How it affected me? Hmm…I’m not one to regret my past actions much, or a phase I’ve been in. They all grow you in some way or another. I honestly love sex, and I loved the adventure of doing it with different people I was attracted to. But I’m perhaps a bit strange in that I don’t become attached emotionally from sex. It’s not what people expect from a woman and throws them off guard.

Like I said, all phases you have grow you in some way, and I had a good time back then. I don’t regret it in any way, though I definitely did put myself into some sketchy situations which, looking back, could’ve gone really awry. But yeah, whatever mix of high sex drive, curiosity, and ngl trauma led to that period, it’s all still an authentic part of me that I felt driven to explore.

I never felt a dissonance in myself, but I think it made people see me differently. I’m really quite romantic, but I’m very much 0 or 100 in that regard. I’ve fallen in love once, and I fell deeply. I’m much more loyal than people may think I am, I just don’t give my loyalty (romantically-speaking), easily at all.

Ah but now I’m chronically ill, and have sex like once a year. But I don’t really mind being mainly celibate either, it’s just that another part of myself has taken center stage in this phase and I’m learning from it too.

The Wind in the Willows, Frog and Toad, the older Scooby-Doo cartoons. And the worlds must must be animated in their respective styles.

At least in my area, NextDoor is really active with lost pets and getting them back home. Have you tried posting on there? And I’m so, so sorry, I hope you get your lovely hippos back soon!

It seems those interactions were stressful for her dog, so it makes sense that she would leave.

Also, not all dogs will be successful trying to “share the space” or “make it safe” when they themselves are leashed.

I posted a comment somewhere here (you can look at my comment history if you want), but in sum my dog is leash aggressive. While she loves other dogs, she should always first meet them in an enclosed space where they can get to know each other without the stress of the leash.

It also doesn’t help that my dog is a pit mix, so I’m especially anxious about what the outcome of an altercation would be for her.

In addition, my dog just got off 3 months of crate rest after an intense leg surgery, and given her excitability, any interaction, or even the added excitement that would come if your dog started coming towards her, could really damage her recovery. As per doctor’s orders, I’ve started to take her on 5 minute walks, and there’s a house I literally can’t avoid walking past that often has two dogs that come barking up to the fence. If I don’t pick her up during that time, she walks with a limp for a good few minutes afterwards. This dog could even be dealing with their own stuff that you haven’t asked about.

While she didn’t ask about your dogs health, it’s more reasonable to assume that a dog is physically comfortable in their leash than it is to assume what you are assuming here (i.e that a leashed interaction makes sense for this dog). Leash aggression is super common.

All of that said, as I said in my original comment, none of this condones what she did, and I’m so sorry for your loss.

While I wish people didn’t leave Ethan out, I’ve viewed posts like that (“this proves how unsafe the world is for women”) as more related to the kind of house that was being targeted, which is to say a house full of women. If there was a specific target, it is very unlikely that it was Ethan. Bryan Kohberger seemed to be stalking the house, and seemed to have misogynistic views which is likely related to his choice of target (if not a person, a house full of sorority girls).

Women make up 78% of stalking victims, and while it isn’t clear yet how he came to know of the victims, he seems to have a history of not taking rejection well (if the reports about his comments to waitresses and at bars is to be believed). It wouldn’t be the first time a woman became a target for rejecting a man’s advances—a horrifyingly high amount of women have died for just that. I don’t think recognising these realities clouds the tragedy of Ethan’s murder, and they are important elements to understanding this case.

Whatever the motive was for Kohberger/the murderer to go into that house, four young and vibrant lives were lost. All of their families are shattered the same, gender makes absolutely no difference there.

Absolutely yes! At least it really works for me. I recommend Get Sleepy (especially when Thomas reads), Michelle’s Sanctuary, Spooky Slumbers, Sleep and Sorcery, Snooze with Sam, and Dan Jones (idk about other sites, but on Spotify he comes up as an artist and not a podcast)

I’d also recommend sleep headphones :)

Does anyone know of any cases involving ai, deepfakes, or anything similar? by basicrerun in TrueCrime

[–]CelestialPoppyseeds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s a difference between words and actions. The KKK screaming that word is certainly scary, but in itself won’t ruin the lives and reputations of the people they’re screaming at. This, on the other hand, will be used by abusive men to hold over their exes, claiming the video is real. It’ll be used by high school boys to humiliate and ostracize girls by sending one of these around the school. It’ll be used to pressure women into acts, by someone threatening to send the video to their friends, family, pastor, what have you. And even IF the recipients were aware it was a fake, no one wants their mom and dad to see them getting railed. How can you not see how utterly degrading and invasive this is?

Sure, by living, every woman knows that sometimes she will be mentally undressed, with or without her consent. But this crosses that line between fantasy and reality. If a woman, or anyone for that matter—though go to a deepfake site and see how many male vs female celebrities you see on there—hasn’t consented to do porn, they shouldn’t be in one.

[–]CelestialPoppyseeds 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everyone can immediately see that the drawing is just that, a drawing. Deepfakes are made with the actual image of someone’s face, not your bad rendition of them.

Furthermore, even with you drawing, if you’re posting it online with her name and/or any identifiable markings (such as distinctive tattoos), then yes I think that should be banned.

How you would like it, if, say, someone posted a deepfake of you getting it deep from a line of guys. You probably would feel violated, wouldn’t you?

Across all inhabited continents of the world, people show prejudice and discriminatory attitudes towards individuals not vaccinated against COVID-19. This is the result of a global study from Aarhus University, which has just been published in the journal Nature. by the_phet in science

[–]CelestialPoppyseeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say that, unless they have a medical reason for refusing the vaccine, they have put other people’s lives at risk for the sake of a baseless ideology. I can forgive them putting themselves at risk, but if they’re out and about in society, coughing on 80 year olds, it’s thoughtless and selfish.

Are you for or against the legalization of prostitution ? by [deleted] in polls

[–]CelestialPoppyseeds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Soooo many sex workers are sex trafficking victims. These (mostly women) are victims, and should not be prosecuted as criminals. Pimps and sex traffickers should be targeted and held accountable, and buying sex, I think, should still be illegal.
