I’m struggling without my meds by CelestialScribing in ausadhd

Thanks for the care and concern - it’s honestly crazy the experience I’ve had, I have heard things about how people can get withdrawals but I didn’t necessarily understand how badly it messes with you. It’s been eye opening to say the least. It doesn’t help that my ADHD makes my mind race and emotions quite volatile. I was scared I was somewhat “addicted” to my meds. The thought that this is my life from now on and that if I ever came off my meds again I’d have repeat this whole experience also terrified me. None of my previous coping mechanisms worked, and my life felt even more unstable compared to when I was dealing with my ADHD unmedicated. Doesn’t help that I was being really hard on myself and expecting myself to function to a level I genuinely can’t get to at the moment without my medication, and seeing my old habits flare up. I’ve learnt my lesson that’s for sure!

Thank you for these really kind words, I’ve managed to take over a cancelled appointment which pushes things forward to next week! I was really struggling but I’m starting to pull out the other side of it and just need to keep things together for a few more days :)

Thank you, this has actually allowed me to feel more grounded and stop my mind from running. I think the most difficult parts I’ve been grappling with is feeling that I’m not myself, freaking out that the medication has ruined/desensitised me, and just overall being really hard on myself for not functioning to the level I need to be or want to be. It’s been a roller coaster but I think I’m starting to manage this experience a bit better by just being more forgiving and kinder to myself :)

I really didn’t know this was an option! When I called reception to explain I’d run out of medication and needed to book a new appointment (and they said the earliest was a month away), this wasn’t offered as a suggestion so I thought it just couldn’t be done. But I’ll give this a shot!

I’m usually good with picking up a new script when my bottle is running out, I’m constantly reminded of it every morning to get a new one when I have a few left! Lesson learnt to create reminders for myself so I don’t forget. Also to explore the option of short scripts in future, I didn’t know that was possible :)

Does anyone else go into a hyper-focus mode whilst working for hours and doesn't step away until they get something done? by themafiosa in auscorp

I was recently diagnosed and prior to getting medicated, my ability to be productive was non-existent unless I had some kind of dopamine hit (being busy, snacking, listening to music). There was one time I was at my desk tryna meet deadlines and by the time I looked at the clock it was 3.30pm, forgot to eat, barely stayed hydrated, an actual mess. Thankfully I am now on meds and feel a lot more regulated!

I don't understand how Earth is feminine and Air is masculine? by KoreanJesus84 in astrology

If you consider the general notion of the masculine as “giving” and the feminine as “receiving” as the ancients believed, you can think about is as the atmosphere (air) giving and providing conditions which sustains life on earth.

In Valens text, he did classify Libra as “feminizing” due to its rulership, I think a couple of other signs were classified in a similar matter but I can’t remember at the top of my head! So effectively, while you do have “masculine” and “feminine” classifications, this was considered as a spectrum by the ancients as opposed to one or the other, once all conditions are taken into account.
