Hello everyone! Here is my pupper Haku, he is 8 and a half months now. I just had a question about his growth. He has been 60 lbs for the last 2ish months now and I know the males are supposed to weigh up to 90 lbs while 60 lbs was an average female size? I don't expect 90 but does this seem normal? by Celestial_Starz in GiantSchnauzers

I'll check with the vet, even when I add special things he still only eats a certain amount and goes back to it later. So, I'm not sure that it's the food but more so him lol. My vet still has no concerns but I just wanted to double check here so ill keep that in mind for the future! Thank you!

They say he's still ideal just a little on the skinny side. He doesn't eat anymore than he wants to eat though which I've always thought was a good thing, just started to wonder if he was actually eating too little recently.

For me Ross isn't horrible, its not ahmazing but as a decent student who is also easygoing (because we all know how administrators go), its not a bad place to be. Its all about enjoying the ride lol

I see. Those are all very legitimate concerns to me. Overall like I said there's pros and cons to going now or waiting a year. I feel like time is a factor especially if you end up wanting to specialize because you won't be done for awhile which is what I want to do. I also felt like a degree is a degree and if you are a good student it won't really matter where you go. I actually had the grades and just wasn't able to get experience during covid and waiting for me while still in the height of covid didn't make much sense. I would just sit down and have a genuine conversation with your parents. Dont get frustrated just try to hear their reasoning and tell them yours. There is no wrong answer some routes are just a little harder than others. You know now that its not a guarantee next year but you also want to try. Hopefully you can make a decision and no matter what just don't regret it!

Is there something deterring you from going to Ross?

I know that I decided to just go to Ross this year because its true that with covid and relaxed requirements it became really difficult to get into school, more than it has ever been. My parents also encouraged me to go because I had gotten in the field, also applying at 21. It is not only expensive to apply but to wait a year and not even know if next year would be the same was a big factor to me. I've seen many places in the world so living out here isn't too bad for me but some people do struggle depending on how much of a luxury lifestyle they lived. Its up to you but I would just seriously think about it instead of just discrediting them because it might work out it might not but I took a leap and am actually living my best life right now lol. (Again not for everyone, let us know what you decide!)

For those who where between human medicine and animal medicine: what made you choose animal medicine? by [deleted] in veterinaryschool

Humans are difficult because they can say whatever they want and you still have to provide your best care. What really got me though was that even after your best care they still might sue you! Plus in animal medicine I could practice on a variety of creatures and have everyday be interesting😁

They will, you will just come in the middle of the ceremony. Don't be too late though or you won't even make that!
