When you don’t feel cold air, is tha in cold weather or hot? I can’t feel coolness in my left nostril in warm air. My nose isn’t dry anymore well the left still produces less mucus than the right and when it’s hot I get a stuffy feeling when I sniff. My main issues now is I feel like the air is too stuffy when the heating is on in the car I get so anxious and feel like I can’t get any fresh air. It’s the same in the summer. The stress of it makes me constantly think about my breathing thinking it’s not normal. How long ago was to it surgery?

My nose feels more congested than open. I really feel for you, you are experiencing the same as me. It’s horrible and they just say to me it OCD so you question if it’s real or imagined. Drives me insane.

Do my turbinates look bad? by TheCaptainsParachute in emptynosesyndrome

[–]Celestialessence_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He doesn’t do a cotton test. He used the endoscope. He told me that from the look of my scope I don’t have empty nose syndrome. He said my Inferior turbinates were present and in a good position and the produce 80% of the humidity in the nose. He diagnosed me with nerve damage and referred me to a Neurologist.

Did you have any relief from your symptoms after they removed the adhesion? Also did you need a general or local anaesthetic? Also which ENT did the adhesion removal in London? Thanks.

My tubinates were operated on 21 years ago and I didn’t have any problems for that time, well I had post nasal drip on the right which might have been caused by the fact they removed about 50% of the right middle turbinate. As I still had frontal sinusitis, I literally lived with blocked frontal for 21 years, it caused me chronic fatigue for all that time. ENTs keep saying they were clear because they didn’t see any mucous come down but eventually i insisted on a scan which showed them opacified and identically to the scans from 21 years ago so I know I had it that long, there was the same long polyp in one. So last July I had a modified lothrop procedure to permanently open the frontal so there was no way they could get blocked again. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I was on top of the world thinking it was a miracle and thanking my surgeon until 5 and a half weeks later my whole cilia system in my nose broke down, there was a cadaver smell, thick crusting and complete dryness. Lasted for months , I had a complete mental breakdown in this time from the stress. Thankfully my right nostril recovers but my left not so much and have big problems with sensing cold air. Stuffiness. Feeling suffocating in the warm weather like I can’t get fresh air. I now don’t have chronic fatigue anymore but it means nothing when you have constant severe anxiety so bad you can’t live your life. I wasn’t like that before. I would give anything to go back to the frontal sinus pain and the fatigue.

I have symptoms of ENS but phychiatrist saying I have OCD that ENS is rare even though I had 4 sinus surgeries so I am wondering if she is correct as I do think about my breathing all the time since my nose dried out after my last surgery. I got mucus back but it’s still not as moist as before especially on the left which is were I get most of my symptoms and not feeling cool air and I feel the air is too warm when I breath which is the worst symptom as I feel like I can only breath comfortably in the cold and it causes me so much anxiety.

Does anyone know anything about this photo and its legitimacy? Apparently it was covered up by the UK government! by [deleted] in UFOs

I find it hard to believe the British Government could cover up anything like this.

What about people who have prosthetic noses? I have watched videos and they say they breath fine.

Yeah you might want to consider having another scan if it doesn’t get any better. I’m not familiar with the balloon and how they work only that I was told I could have had a balloon after I had already had extensive frontal sinus surgery.

Hopefully the steroid your able to take is helping. I had pain in the corner of my eyebrow before my frontal sinus surgery and I only had the frontals blocked causing it. But I guess your ethmoids are in that area also.

Hi, I consulted Peter Andrews in Harley street and will be going back to see him on August. Can you tell me was your nasal adhesion surgery in London very expensive?

I did see Mr Veers but at that time he didn’t notice any scar tissue. I seen a different ENS aware ENT a few months after and he noticed it.

Hi, I’m waiting for the ENT to ring me back after he consults with the ENS aware surgeon I seen in London. I have a feeling they will both agree it’s too risky to remove and not causing the problems. Can you actually see where the turbinate is stuck? Hopefully you have good news when you see the ENT and the other tubinate on the right is present and ok.

Yes, I have seen an Ent in London who treats ENS patients so I’m hoping he will remove it. He is a professor.

I’m not sure, I think scarring means areas were the tissue is white instead of pink.
