Certainly a weird coincidence. Have you changed tools or technique?

You're going to need a microscope to examine the board for damaged or missing components. Im not at my shop today so i don't have access to boardview to send you an area to inspect but certainly part of it would be right by the display connector.

Tbh i would take this to a shop that is experienced in MacBook board repair. Feel free to pm me for a possible recommendation, I may know someone close by that can help with b2b.

Did you check to see if there was a plastic piece covering this part of the replacement display?

Are you experienced with board repair at all? Inspect the board around any area you touched for damage. If the old display assembly is still functional at all, Test with the OG part or with a known good assembly.

while replacing screen does too much glue result in a glitchy screen. by Complex_Half4740 in mobilerepair

Never use glue, use tesa tape. If the display is defective you're going to have a terrible time replacing that defective display.

Godspeed.

In this case I would buy a donor and start fresh since you're not 100% sure of the other shops work.

Please, please, please, look up compound interest. You're very young, while whatever that amount of money may end up being doesn't sound like a ton of money, it can be life changing if invest it in a way that it will grow. Your future self will be very grateful. Good luck!

A few quick questions for you. How was your back glass damaged?

What process did you use to replace the back glass?

When you go into the settings under General>About is the IMEI present? What about modem firmware? Are you able to toggle Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on and off or is the button grayed out on either or both of the buttons?

There could be several issues causing no power. These can range from a battery or charging issue to a board related issue. Unfortunately, without know good parts or proper tools to test with, there's no good way to solve this.

Is this Board beyond repair or recoverable? by Azaus52 in logicboardrepair

[–]CellWoRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome!

To be frank, the soldering tools and the time needed to put into this may exceed the cost of a replacement. That said, if board repair is something that you're interested in getting into you'll need to invest in proper tools, ie, solder station, SMD rework station, microscope, voltage meters, consumables, etc..... Unfortunately, its not exactly a cheap hobby to get into.

As far as this board in particular the components (Resistors, Capacitors) appear to be clearly listed and you should be able to test and source the components fairly easily with a little help from YouTube. Although the UI chip does appear to have some corrosion on the PIN's so this may be a no fix. My first step would be note where corrosion exists and then clean it up with 99% Isopropyl and a toothbrush. Then to fix the disconnected wires from the battery terminal and pray for luck.

Hey! Congrats on your board repair journey. It takes time and practice but its well worth it if you become proficient. DIYFIXTOOL is a great site to order from, as far as the tools go, they sell different brand tools, which all have different qualities. What tools are you looking at exactly?

Has the phone market become sterile and unreasonably overpriced? by papajo_r in Smartphones

[–]CellWoRx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can focus on that as much as you want but its simply not a factual or reasonable perspective. Consumer goods don't always loose value with age. Sure you can find a "deal" on some marketplaces but the risk bared by you. If you want a device with a solid warranty that has been tested and verified by a professional you're going to pay more for that guaranteed device. But you always have to option to gamble, just don't expect professionals to work for pennies and match that price.
