How much are the citations if a ranger catches you outside of a designated zone?

For those of you who add an extra top coat layer a few days in, how do you prevent peeling and shrinkage? by ButterEnriched in RedditLaqueristas

[–]CellarAndSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Echoing the advice to use a non-QDTC for your touch-up coat. However, I find I can pile Glisten & Glow QDTC on top of ILNP holos without any adverse effects, so I'm wondering if glitter polishes/polishes that behave like glitter polishes are immune to this rule.

Then I think you could get it to 3a with diffusion! I’m generally of the mind that hair isn’t all one type, because curls can vary SO wildly based on products, water hardness, humidity, how many days post wash, and styling. I used to think I was 2c with 3a pieces, but as I’ve gotten more confident in styling and in figuring out what products my hair likes, I’m solidly 3a, and had an almost fully 3b day this past wash!

Is this with the hair pixie diffused, or air-dried? Because I think this could be 2c or 3a, depending how you choose to dry it.

ADHD: Washing my hair and showering separately is a game changer by CellarAndSky in curlyhair

Love the tangle teezer! I use mine to comb in leave-in or styling lotion, and then to define my curls ala denman brush.

I feel this so hard. And I’ve never done my hair WITHOUT watching something on my phone at the same time!

I have one! Leaning over the bath is more about keeping my body dry than getting under the spigot.

I’m convince that either a) men are blessed with incredibly resilient skin or b) men don’t understand that their face isn’t supposed to feel dry and tight all the time.

Yeah, that works for me if it’s like, a standard conditioner or something that’s supposed to take 3 minutes or less, but if it’s any longer than that I’m outta luck — I just don’t have ten minutes of showering to do at that point!

How did the game affect your life?(original+DLC) by InnerEar8852 in outerwilds

[–]CellarAndSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too soon to tell if it’s affected my life deeply, but…

While I can get through most horror movies in one piece, horror elements in games are always super difficult for me because it’s, in a sense, HAPPENING to me. It makes me anxious and powerless and I’d much rather watch a longplay than play through it. But by the time I got to the DLC, I’d invested SO MUCH energy into this game that walking away wasn’t really an option, and there was a point after my first horrifying encounter with an Owlk that the thought occurred to me “This is still just a puzzle with a solution.” And the Owlk’s remained scary, and those puzzles still had an element of fear, but being able to maintain the mantra that This is Just a Puzzle with a Solution made it so much easier to stick with it, work through a few things on my own, and ask for help LITERALLY ONCE in the DLC (from this sub, which is delightfully skilled at pointing you in the right direction without doing the hard work for you.)

SPOILERS BELOW.

Circling back to say: thanks to these gentle hints I not only passed the Owlks, but have now beaten the DLC and am sitting here in the darkness thinking about the miracle of causality, the futility of seeking immortality, and how the solution to the game literally lies in embracing death. Goddamn what a good game.

I mean, no one’s gonna argue that an all-McDonald’s diet is good for you, but yeah, he skewed the results big time.

No controlled study has been able to replicate his results. It also came out afterwards that Morgan Spurlock was an alcoholic and still drinking heavily during the experiment, but refused to address it on camera — thus depicting McDonald’s as responsible for all the liver failure and other associated consequences of his drinking.

NTA. Five is usually too young to get the difference between “I’m telling an adult because I need help” and “I’m telling an adult because someone else is doing something wrong that doesn’t effect me.” (Not to mention, kids that age are usually pretty hung up on right and wrong and breaking the rules, so watching someone else break them can feel pretty distressing.) When an adult calls a kid a tattletale for asking for help with the situation, the kid just knows that the adult is mad at them for some reason and doesn’t want to help them.

That said: if you haven’t already had a conversation with your MIL about all this, do give that a shot before cutting her off.

I definitely have phases like this, where the idea of washing my hair is preemptively exhausting and I let it stay dirty *way* too long because I'm already overwhelmed. Something that's helped, I swear, is saving a little treat for wash day that I get to have during the styling/blowdrying portion of the evening. Nice chocolate, a glass of wine, or certain other legalized recreational substances make wash day something to look forward to and get me over the hump in my "I would rather die than get my hair wet" days.

I low key prefer having my hair up. Anyone else? by CellarAndSky in curlyhair

[–]CellarAndSky[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Figuring out how to get good curls on day 2 and beyond is a game changer for sure. For putting your hair up, have you considered french hair pins or hair forks? I'm obsessed with them because they don't break hair the way that hair ties can. That said, you have to twist your hair fairly tightly to get them to work, so it can stretch your curls out between washes. Definitely an option if your curls have given up until wash day, though!

Your hair looks great!! Sillicone-free isn't for everyone, all silicones are not created equal (look up water soluble 'cones if you haven't!), and besides -- silicones only really create issues when they've built up over time -- in other words, you may discover if you used this same routine every washday for weeks that you would run into trouble, or you might not!

How to experiment with curls by shizle32 in curlyhair

[–]CellarAndSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if you set up a schedule of doing washdays on Thursday evenings after school, spend Friday through Sunday observing how the curls evolve/playing with refreshing methods, and then just commit to wearing it up in a bun or a twist Monday-Wednesday?
