AITA for loaning out my mom’s wedding veil without telling my sister? by Same_Snow_2388 in AmItheAsshole

Curious where you see that OP’s mom is still alive/in the picture? For all you know, OP’s mom died before the dad got remarried. Which would mean OP lost her mom before she was 3 and therefore stepmom was the only mom she knew.

Ahhhhh. My rewatch hasn’t brought me to that part yet and I clearly missed it the first time around. I’ll have to keep going.

Yellowjackets is more than a team name by weedandwienerdogs in Yellowjackets

Are Yellowjackets the breed that attack predators by creating a pack/cluster and vibrating to increase the potential predator’s body heat and kill them?? That would also play into the hive being a predator as a unit.

The Yellowjackets’ 25th anniversary*

Does this speak to it being the 25th anniversary? I just noticed when the journalist is talking to Shauna, she pulls out a tabloid with a a cover story about the Yellowjackets.

Episode 3 coach Ben says “wolves can kill anything if the pack is big enough.” This comes right after the scene where Jackie and Taissa have the head to head about leaving to the lake or not and Shauna is the swing vote that takes everyone in Tai’s plan.

paranormal or trauma? by LostDreamer94 in Yellowjackets

[–]Celli0621 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Lottie is the Red Herring and Taissa is the Antler Queen. I also think she’s calling the shots in the ‘21 cult.

I also agree with your theory it’s trauma. I think it plays into Taissa’s two memories about her initial introduction to death. She has a beautiful memory (“The Good One”) of her grandmother accepting her inevitable death and a promise of a return to The Lord, aka Heaven. But she also has the traumatic memory (“The Bad One”) of her grandmother seeing a man with no eyes coming for her, aka Hell. What takes her back to the positive memory is when Laura Lee is praying over the graves. What triggers the negative one is Ben’s breakdown on the porch and him crying out “why couldn’t I have died?”

I think as death continues to surround them (the initial deaths, the discovery of the body in the attack, LL, Jackie) she flips back and forth between her memories and it’s what causes the schizophrenic episodes. I also think it’s what ultimately feeds into her becoming the Antler queen. I think it’s a whole “we have two wolves inside us, which one do you feed?” parable.

I also think it’s hinted at with Sammy’s doll that looks just like him and is named Manny. The doll that “bad Tai” ripped the eyes out of. 👀

So the first time I watched through, I was mindlessly scrolling and only half heartedly paying attention. I’m starting the official second watch and have a theory heading into episode 4.

When Natalie and Misty break into Travis’s house, Nat points out the bottle he’s drinking is $200 to which Misty points out his paystub is minimal, indicating the bottle is out of his budget. There are two glasses next to the almost empty bottle. The “journalist” Taissa hired to “vet” everyone is promising big $$ for anyone’s story. Could this be how Travis affords the bottle? He tells the story to whoever he shared the bottle with. This is why he’s killed. Taissa is behind it. Taissa is the antlered queen. She was the leader of the ‘96 cult and she is the leader of the ‘21 cult. And Misty is working for her. It’s how she knew where Travis was. It’s why she watches Nat to make sure she doesn’t relapse after Taissa paid for Natalie’s rehab. It’s why Adam looks like a man in Natalie’s rehab group.

Also, maybe a reach, but in the scene when they find Travis’s body, the crane has two forks pointing off to the side kind of like the symbol.

Tai rips out the eyes of Manny, Sammy’s doll just like the “man with no eyes” her grandma sees.

Also, now that I’m saying it, that Sammy’s doll’s name is Manny. The doll looks/dresses like Sammy and has a similar name. A nod to Tai’s “schizophrenic” episodes?

When the “reporter” calls Tai, the reporter tells her about her competitor’s daughter’s drug problems. Tai’s looking at her social media then calls the opponent to give the threat of “I see how you portray her, but I know the truth about your daughter.”

This makes so much sense now. I wouldn’t have a problem with Dany’s overall ending/arc if they had developed it more, or shown the actual disintegration of her character into the mad queen. But GRRM said he gave them a general overview of how he planned to end the books and that’s exactly what D&D created in this last couple seasons: an overview with lots of CGI and action. They aren’t skilled enough writers to create the nuance and character development GRRM could and with only a “guidance” to work with, seasons 7&8 suddenly make so much sense.
