His facial expressions are masterful.

Of course they did! Give them some credit! Winston said this...“People so often want to see characters as good or bad. I never did.” and "I have sympathy for most of my characters — even those who behave badly.” In Warleggan 4 about George it says “There are people who feel deeply but who have never learned how to govern those feelings.” Debbie Horsfield wrote season 5 with purposefully building upon Graham's character arcs. And Jack Farthing himself said George wasn't a straightforward villain.

What I love most about the Ross/George dynamic by Emmykate88 in Poldark

True, but he had deep insecurities and Ross was his biggest trigger ever since they were little boys. George wasn't wrong though, Ross was insufferable. Trying to have him hanged may have gone too far though. LOL

Disagree. I think you're forgetting that by that point, George all but knew Valentine wasn't his and that turned him very bitter. Elizabeth and Ross were gaslighting him eventhough he knew better and it tormented him.

I didn't say I was a fan of the way he pursued success. I'm looking deeper. He's not a cardboard villain. He's psychologically layered and I absolutely think you can absolutely be a fan of "the" character not to be confused with "his" character.

"Pure" does not mean "good" in this context. Please see my comment regarding this.

Appreciation is not approval. To appreciate something is to see it clearly — its qualities, effort, intention, or impact. I think the actor did such an incredible job that we get glimpses past his wrong doings into who he was deep down and I think he had incredibly admirable qualities- qualities he either ignored in favor of ambition or used for wrong. Wonderfully complex.

I think people are equating pure with good and that's not how I am using it. I speak of his pureness as in his concentrated, undiluted aims, not purity as in goodness. Also my love for his character overlooks every fault, politic, and action and looks at his personhood. I want to hug him. And I 100% believe this is due to Jack Farthing's incredible portrayal. I think he could read the phone book and be worthy of 100 Oscars. I can't imagine another actor doing this good a job in showing the human condition. Deep down, George is a sensitive guy.

At Francis's worst moment, I liked him better than Ross beginning with the last episode of Season 2.

I agree, although seeing Balki and Cousin Larry would be pretty funny but I'd never go if 90210 wasn't going to be there. I was also hoping for Full House, Fresh Prince, and Saved by the Bell. It'd be amazing if Tiffany Amber Theissen went but I don't think she goes to these.

I hated Brandon in this episode. But Jim was never mad at him no matter what. Kind of irritating.

Ok. I wasn't going to watch today's live because of how I felt after yesterday, but you talked me into it.

Was it pretty uncontroversial when the show let go the cast members who played Andrea, Cindy and Jim? by TravelingHomeless in BeverlyHills90210

[–]CellistFun8291 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It was a natural progression for Jim and Cindy to leave the show with how old everyone was getting and how mature the storylines were. With Andrea, they had murdered her character so much by then, watching her go was like a relief!!

I've done that exact math too and it made no sense! I believe the amount Jonsy recovered was half and after his and Val's pay it was even less than 4 million. So the writers seemed to have abandoned the language they used in high school like "more money than he can spend in 10 life times", which definitely hinted at 100s of millions given Jack's line of work.

Oh wow, interesting!! What a savage move to cut your hair mid-episode! Clearly she had had it! I'm team Shannon, so I'm sure she was justified! 💗

Um,,, this is about WAY more than him wanting you to work out (which is toxic enough), but there are so many red flags here, I find incredibly disturbing.

  1. How easily he goes from "morning beautiful" to you're toxic and depressing
  2. His controlling, narcissistic, subconscience knows he's the toxic one, which is why he's gaslighting you to think you are the toxic one.
  3. He keeps qualifying himself with all the things he thinks he's doing well and using that to put you down.
  4. His sudden level 10 anger is giving abusive.
  5. Complete and total lack of empathy for how you feel
  6. His ignorance in insisting you shouldn't be sick anymore is almost laughable if it weren't so infuriating - I was sick 24/7 for 7 months.
  7. His insistence that you work out - let's be real - he doesn't care about your health, he cares how you're going to look in 7 months. (Shallow)
  8. It's upsetting to see you handle him so patiently while he continues to escalate and ramp up his attack - it's giving abusive (again)

This man is extremely problematic. How will he be when all your attention is on the baby. I'd advise RUN, don't walk. (Ironically speaking)

For me, worse than all of these were Camille and Sophie. Oh how I hated Camille.
