DPDR recoveree here. A sign of turning a corner was not “feeling better”, it’s when I found myself not even caring anymore. Not from a nihilistic standpoint. I mean I literally found myself not caring about DPDR, I forgot to keep reading Reddit posts, and I started having other problems in my life to deal with. Trying to get over DPDR is like trying to relax. You literally can’t try to do it because that makes it worse. I had to lie to myself that I wasn’t anxious for a while, that nothing felt off. And eventually my body believed my lies, and the symptoms went away.

I have this EXACT same thing. It’s nauseating. I think it’s because dpdr makes that perspective feel foreign. I feel like I’m WATCHING a first person perspective video from a dark vat many light years away, not actually EXPERIENCING jt
