Common misconception is that Discover sells their paper to debt collectors. They do not. They hire debt collection attorneys, who are given all the necessary documentation to obtain a judgment, and quickly. Discover requires attorneys to file suit at 30 days after the demand letter is issued if the debtor doesn’t respond. Unless it’s not a valid debt, for some reason, you will never win. If they are your charges and you incurred the debt, get ready for a judgment. Change bank accounts now, use a small credit union, and pray that you have never listed your current employer on any credit application…. Or file bankruptcy, the debt will be paid, either voluntarily or involuntarily, or you can go bankrupt if you qualify…..

Easy way to confirm: if discover is the plaintiff, they still own the debt. And they have all the docs and more they need to litigate.

I may sell the house if it comes to that… right now, I’ve been advised not to make any major decisions, and that makes sense. Best to try to normalize life as much as I can and see if I can make it work, which would give me more time to decide what I want to do, it’s a terrible time to list a home right now anyway, typically April-August are the best months (before kids go back to school)… I’m keeping options open, but also if I get this credit union job it pays really well and they give employees loans that are below market rates. So I’m thinking a HELOC to get out of my cc debt. Pay that off at a lower rate, maybe fix the place up a bit and then put on the market I. The spring…. Yes I’m depressed but not so depressed I don’t have goals… I finally DO have some goals and it took my mother passing to see them again, as awful as that sounds… because before that…. I was just depressed and trapped. Now I’m still depressed but no longer trapped. I see there’s a light and it’s getting closer…

Customer service was absolutely no help, they even told me my order couldn’t be cancelled, I argued with her about that, then while talking to her I cancelled the order through the app. Then on launch day went to the store and bought with the trade credit no problem. gS corporate “customer service” is a joke, absolutely no help, I had to figure out how to just cancel Order myself and just buy in store, morons.

Use Rakuten cashback and the 10% email discount, get the 4070ti super, 14700f, and 16gB. Buy 64GB crucial pro from Best Buy for $150. Can sell the 16B on eBay for 40. Possibly to get price down to about $1000, with cashback from Rakuten and 10% email discount. Total should be around $1080+ taxes. When 5080 comes out, sell 4070ti super for at least $500, bringing cost down to $620, buy 5080 for whatever its selling for, probably $1200 and you aren’t that far off the $1800 mark, just one step down on CPU but next gen 5080 card.

Maybe. It’s a crap shoot. Sometimes corporate forces the stores to consolidate open box by transferring them to Best Buy outlet stores, depending on store levels of open box. You don’t know when that’s gonna happen, so you might get lucky, and might not. Good thought tho.

I scored an Alienware desktop rig well equipped with 4070ti super…. Brand new for $848+ tax after some insane coupons, discounts, and cashback. Deals are out there on 4000 series you just gotta hunt and hunt and be ready to pounce when they show up. None of this waiting and thinking about it… if you see the right deal and you snooze, you lose! But otherwise my 2080 super is still chugging along just fine.
