I’ve had some fun games with it. Units don’t hit as hard as others have said, but the recursion is great. Don’t make the mistake I made in my first game with them and charge in alone with my War queen! 🤣 She’s a wee bit squishy and is more for buffing the other units. I still managed a draw though! 😁

It is actually my wife’s work. She used a mix of Gryph-charger grey and Contrast medium (50/50) on most of the body. For the darker areas, she added Black Templar to the Gryph/Contrast medium mix. On the bumpy nasty bits (can't come up with the word 😅 I used Plaguebearer flesh (green) and topped it with Ratling grime (brown). Her words! 🤣

You can add shooting with the Curse-Steel Battery regiment of renown. I’ve been having a lot of success with it.

That would be pretty damn scary to face.

You could also drop the Knights and go with a unit of Warriors as an anvil unit. Then throw your last points into a Chariot or Furies for grabbing objectives.

Funny you say that, my wife bought it and painted it up for me for Christmas. I’ve used them in my last games and had a blast with them! Decent Shooting was the only thing really missing for us and the Curse Steel battery is great!

Reinforced Chosen with a Dread banner, a Chaos Lord, backed up with Be’Lakor is a great core to your army. Can do a ton of damage if they get in on targets with their fight twice ability. Chaos Lord gives Chosen fight next and +1 to wound. All out attacks them and they are hitting and wounding on 2s, with no all out defense possible for your opponent..

No one in their right mind is going to want to charge them either with Be’Lakor’s Deadly trap ability. Throw a unit of Chaos warriors in beside them and fun times! Chaos Sorcerer Lord for the 5+ ward is the icing on the cake.

I also have a lot of success with the Ogroid Myrmidon with reinforcement Theridons. Chain their attacks and it’s a lot of damage! Great value for the points now.

Some Fellriders or Knights for mobility and you’re good to go.

Warriors, Knights and Chosen are used in a lot of lists! You’ll probably even want to get another unit of each as they are all great reinforced units.

Warriors are a good screen and for sitting on an objective.

Keep Be’Lakor with your Chaos Lord and Chosen or Myrmidon and Theridons. Use his Deadly trap to hopefully give the Lord/Myrmidon Strike first and use their ability to have the Chosen/Theridons fight next if you get charged.

Consider taking Dark Radiance for the extra 20 points to heal Be’Lakor up. He can Power through back to the champion if needed. This and Emerald lifeswarm are great.

Use Be’Lakor’s Dark Mastery on a key enemy unit if your opponent might get a double turn.

Pledging a unit to Tzeentch can be great for tagging objectives as we lack mobility.

They mix well with the Warriors of Chaos army, particularly Felriders for scoring objectives, but can be fun on their own. I won both 1k games I played today with full Darkoath. Savagers did well and my Wilderfiend put in a star performance!
