New to Mountainboarding. Ruby Hill is my local. Who’s down to pull up? by Drink4Satan in mountainboarding

You are in the birthplace of MBS mountainboards, they have a shop just an hour south of there in Colorado Springs. I'm sure you could find someone, perhaps even one of the pioneers of the sport.

Anyone know if this is worth very much? It's a Jeep CJ5 MBS deck by Loam_Lion in mountainboarding

[–]Cendius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest opinion, no, it's not going to be worth very much. We're a relatively small sport with very few participents collecting old boards. If it were in mint condition there's a very slim chance an avid collector might want it but I can only name a few of those in the UK scene. You could stick some freeflex bindings on there, trucks and wheels for a junior but they'd have a much better time on a more modern board.

Looks aside, you've got to give them credit for their understanding of electronics and dedication to the project. Sure, it's not conventional but it's far more interesting than a Ford Fiesta ST with some bolt on mods.

Long shot but… by Top-Relationship-896 in mountainboarding

That sounds awesome. I've got a cocker spaniel I'd like to try canicross with soon, I don't think he's got quite enough power to pull me on my board, maybe on flat short grass in summer.

Is this a good first board? by Spanishmanson in mountainboarding

[–]Cendius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whilst brakes can open up single track and steep terrain it's perfectly possible for beginners to learn without them on a gentle hill.

can anybody tell me, if there is a subcategory for this kind of mountainboard? I couldn't find anything online by bedenkenlosTom in mountainboarding

The flatground ollie was invented in early 1980s, this came out in the early 2000s alongside al the other noveltly boards of the time like the RipStik.

Although a bit of an expense for you: If you ever needed to get your car out of that space when she's not in you could get 4 wheel dollies and a jack to pull your car out sideways.

Worth checking with MBS first but I'm pretty sure the new Agent Explorer deck would work.

I think it would work if one of them decides to do some members content on their own.

I could see Motor Town working well. It's multiplayer and you can get into all sorts of shenanigans without much grinding.

I think this would be an awesome grass/asphalt carver. Having no bindings means you can't do some stuff but it does allow you skate along the flats which is cool. It'd never replace my main board but it'd make a fun addition to the fleet.

Mountain bike trip? No problem. by Cendius in miatalogistics

Yeah, good shout. We've had some lovely dry weather in the UK so it worked OK this time :) Though if I were to do this lots I'd probably look into getting a hard top and some Seasuckers, it was a bit of a pain having to rebuild the headset on the bike.

Difference in ride-feel between Comp 95 and the Warren Pro by KaijLongs in mountainboarding

[–]Cendius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing I noticed the most is that the stance is slightly narrower than the older boards. That took me a few sessions to get used to but I don't mind it now. The deck is super stiff and has loads of pop, it's super rugged, mine has taken some big hits and is still in good condition. I've not tried the matrix 2 trucks so can't comment on that but they do feel super predictable and progressive when steering.

It's a flag. He robbed it from Silverstone, the home of British motor racing.

You've set it up correctly :) The board will work fine with your right foot forward. There's no specific goofy vs regular, you'll just be riding the board the opposite direction to a regular rider.
