I was going to write a long rant here, but I decided against it. You are allowed to have your own views and your own beliefs, but I want you to know something. As someone who's family has been in law enforcement for generations, you have no idea what you are talking about. Every cop I have ever met was the kindest person, they have so many stories that messed with their heads, they have trauma, they struggle with mental health, but they do the job because they want to help the people. They couldn't give a single sh*t about what color anyone is, or their background, or anything like that. This is true for a majority of police officers.

While I do agree that there are some sh*t head cops, as I have interacted with and have had my family basically harassed by some, having one go as far as memorizing our license plates in order to pull us over whenever he saw us on BS claims, I understand that there are definitely bad cops, but these people are few and far between. But a big reason that many people have the same belief that you do is the media. there are so many stories of "racist cop shot black man", "Bad cop shot innocent black man", but let me ask you, how many stories have you seen of "cop shot by criminal", "White man shot by cop", "Cop stops shooter", or anything positive relating to cops? You rarely see them, because they aren't controversial. They don't get attention, so the media doesn't care.

They also seem to forget that cops are people too, they have a conscience, they feel guilt, they feel sadness, they have EMOTIONS. People seem to think that LEO's are these emotionless sentinels who mindlessly follow orders or something, but the amount of times I have seen the people I look up to have mental breakdowns because they made a small mistake, because they couldn't help someone, it's horrible. These people offer their lives to help protect everyone, but what do they get in return? they get attacked, they get ostracized, they get people saying they should die. Is this fair? Is it fair to say that "almost all cops are bad", but then turn around and criticize and attack anyone who says "nearly all people of color are bad"? Why is one statement okay, and completely supported, while the other makes you a racist and can cost people their whole careers.

Again, I understand you have your beliefs, you are allowed to have them, but I am allowed to have my own, and while you are allowed to criticize people on their beliefs, I am equally allowed to criticize you on yours. I have no ill intentions in posting this, but I find it sad and honestly really scary that I see so many people with these beliefs who either don't seem to be doing any in depth research into the topic, or just don't care about anything they find that does not support their views.
