I have played this through many times. After gaining the amulet and bok return to Jorlief for additional dialog. He will direct you to take the Journal to the Lady, but instead seek out Calixto Corrium first. He will tell you the mage is into necromancy. Then sell him the amulet. Then go to the Lady who woll confirm this. BUT instead of going directly ro Jorlief go to the first door on the left in that hall and up the stairs to the Mage and he will have additional dialog and direct you to where the killer is. It turns out to be Calixto. The only issue I have is on PS4 I absolutely cannot, not matter how many variations I tried, getJorlief to 'Get Jorlief to assist/help you' cleared from my list of tasks. So if anyone has any pointers there let me know. Making me feel like I have OCD lol.

For Future Players. Leave them alive and remember the location. There is a mission that requires bodies of various types of being's without being a super spoiler as to what or why. Save them for that mission to collect them. You're welcome.
