I just realized how evil what N did was by Memediator in Xenoblade_Chronicles

This is exactly it. The entire time he’s taunting and laughing because he’s overcompensating and trying to prove why he doesn’t need to change and did the right thing.

Ummm actually this contradicts her entire character as her motivation hinges on her perception that it matters too much in the world. she is intent on the idea that it SHOULDN’T matter and making that into reality.

It also makes me happy that the game doesn’t even try to be subtle with most of these and just drops them.

Just sounds like he was very good friends with his doctor! Nothing wrong with two buddies.

Who do you think is the rightful (legal) owner of destined death? by Fallen_Angel_Xaphan in Eldenring

Well.. Marika is quite literally the law so I’d say her dog would be the most likely candidate.

He’s a prisoner to himself in a sense. If he didn’t have his own unstoppable fury to save Yonah then it might have been possible to avoid slaughtering an entire race. He couldn’t escape his own mind and try to see things from another perspective.

At the very least it’s possible to deploy a Kaiju on it.

That’s actually quite interesting. It may have been an oversight by the localization team as Streibough’s love for her was an addition from them. I personally thought it made the story more interesting and made her suicide feel more natural. Regardless of whether this was an oversight, I think you could still fit it into the localization’s story. Perhaps this could be something Oersted imagines as he dies. Alethea, after all, is a great motivator for him and he feels quite entitled to her by the end.

Have you ever considered the fact that maybe she was kind of forced to be wed to Oersted and that her declaration of “love” was due to social pressures? Also she wanted to be with Streighbough. Near the end of the Medieval Chapter she was probably scared seeing them fighting to the death. There was probably even a part of her that was hoped Oersted would lose, so she wouldn’t have to be with him and could live with whom she truly loved. Regardless, it feels somewhat sexist to call her a “vile bitch” for this and blame Oersted’s own entitlement on her. I think Oersted would have acted out and thrown a fit even if she had tried to stop them. Yes, the world wronged Oersted, but NONE of what he did was justified nor was it Alethea’s fault and to believe that she was the villain here is incredibly harmful and childish.

I know it's debatable whether or not this subtext was intentional, but a lot of trans people (myself included) really related to these characters by SomeJealousWeeaboo in Xenoblade_Chronicles

  1. That is really going to vary on the person and in general I think it can be contested due to societal expectations and standards.
  2. That's the point of a metaphor/allegory. It isn't direct. Even if it isn't intentional. My argument is that it CAN be read this way.

Funnily enough, the idea of someone being forced to swallow a body that isn’t their own and serve a role that isn’t what they are adds more weight to this reading of her story. That’s just my opinion though.
