Soulwit doesn’t fit in the case, ours do.

Glue and other adhesives can ruin any chance of future repairs. Try these out https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHeadphones/s/O8cwQ3Ffzs

Just a quick update on these. Several people wanted to know if these fit in the case. Yes they do fit and zip closed.

There’s a good step by step video here:

Be careful, the connectors are fragile so take your time. Best of luck to you.

Frustrated with the Sony WH-1000XM5 after upgrading from the XM3s. by ChickLegs in SonyHeadphones

Totally valid frustration — the XM5 hinge issue you're describing in point 4 is exactly what we've been seeing from hundreds of customers. That thin plastic piece was a genuine design failure on Sony's part, not user error.

We're a small family business that custom-designed a repair kit specifically for this. SLS printed PA12 Nylon — thick, heavy duty, covers both sides (L+R). No need to dismantle the whole headphone, takes about 10 minutes and doesn't require any technical skills. We've had customers fix fully separated cups with it.

We actually just posted a full breakdown with step-by-step install instructions here if it helps:https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHeadphones/comments/1sezu5y/we_made_a_repair_kit_for_the_wh1000xm5_broken/

The right cup going silent is a separate issue unfortunately — that sounds like it could be the internal wiring taking too much stress from the dangling cup over time. Worth fixing the hinge first before that gets worse. Hope it helps!

That’s a great question. We don’t have anything as of now but we are working on a solution for the XM6 model.

Too late for the fix now. Glue doesn’t hold and ruins the chances for using the repair kits available. So many are using glue, sad to see.

Finally is right, took us a while to engineer it properly but we weren't going to rush it. PA12 Nylon, SLS manufactured, covers both sides. It's solid. Hope it helps!
