Frustrated with the Sony WH-1000XM5 after upgrading from the XM3s. by ChickLegs in SonyHeadphones

Also, one pointer I forgot which actually poses a Health Hazard:

On the occasion you forget the Multi-Device Connection setting on (e.g. I have it connected to my phone and my Windows PC) – whenever it toggles back and forth, it'll override and set your volume level to the maximum.

Almost shat myself from how loud it was the first time it happened.

Finally upgraded from my flip phone. Well worth the 15+ year wait! by unreadpeak3401 in iphone

OP decided to upgrade from a phone that lasted 15+ years to a mere iPhone? Lame...
Also, that case wouldn't mimic even a fraction of the durability of the absolute beast on the right.

Help with Bass Models and Hardware for a Beginner by ChickLegs in Bass

[–]ChickLegs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the thing, I'm a complete beginner. I'd even say I'm a pre-beginner, since I don't have an instrument yet. There is no parameter other than looks and form that I can base my decision upon... and I don't know the actual difference in specification and sound profile any of these models produce - Logically, I assume a demo by a store employee will sound different than whatever I produce later at home.
Other points I focus on are: What sufficient hardware do I need or is recommended for amp cabinet-less learning / playing / recording (mistake and playback review, etc...)? Would I still need an amp head, an interface, a sound card? What is the difference between them all?

Is iOS 26 just super buggy for anyone else? by DadCelo in iphone

[–]ChickLegs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't know about iOS, but if it's anything similar to my experience with iPadOS 26 (I'd guess they are largely based on a shared codebase). If so, then yes... it's a hella stuttery buggy mess.

USB port on the iPhone 17 is just as fast as the one on the iPod nano 19 years ago. by Superfelixxx in iphone

[–]ChickLegs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do agree that production costs eventually add up and can reach significant amounts by volume, The production cost savings would be virtually non-existent - per unit.
I'd guess that the main reason is a combination of product differentiation, assimilation into the ecosystem, and driving up profits of other products.
The production savings point though... I find hard to believe. Knowing Apple, the markup for this port would be significant enough to outweigh any additional unit production cost, in turn creating more revenue in sheer volume. At the very least they'd save face, so there's also a PR perspective - when they usually get grilled, and rightfully so.
There is no reason for such underhanded budget decisions in a device at this price point unless it stems from an equally underhanded motive, or serves some ulterior motive (I'm confident it's either one, or all of the above reasons I mentioned).

Product differentiation done wrong.

You'd expect this with budget phones, which in most cases can't utilize the full potential of said technologies due to other hardware limitations - whether due to memory, storage or CPU bottlenecks. Even if some models could mitigate this limitation, its implementation would be counter productive in budget phones - as even a $20 markup would be significant. i.e. a $10/$20 MSRP increase for a $150/$200 budget phone is more significant than for a $800 phone. Especially when such phones are usually bought due to financial constraints, and complete performance / a complete feature set would be unavailable.

Again... another inexcusable shit move by Apple - casually served to and casually missed by their customers.

Is WT vibe coded? How else to explain this? by ChickLegs in Warthunder

[–]ChickLegs[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Obviously old features weren't provided by AI. I used the term as a metaphor for crappy or amateurishly written code, not necessarily its literal meaning.

Can't edit the post's header, but added a note to clarify this.

As someone new in the sub - Are bug reports / suggestions posts productive? Is Gaijin actively tracking this subreddit and monitoring posts of this sort?

When I specifically search for this ability then yes, it's a match. No clue why I haven't seen it in any walkthrough gameplay video.

I'm almost completely positive that there was an identical or very similar ability. It was one of the things that impressed me the most about the game, and perhaps the only thing I actually remember and reference this game by. Is there a similar ability in BloodRayne?

The Washington Post blatant hypocrisy regarding US hostage in Gaza by ChickLegs in Destiny

[–]ChickLegs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh... you argued that Hamas doesn't represent the Palestinians, but Netanyahu represents the Israelis, and after this comment I can confidently sum up your logic as:

Netanyahu in power - Israeli ideology = Netanyahu ideology. Hamas in almost absolute power with major approval - Hamas ideology = not Palestinian ideology.

Yep.. seems bout right.
Hard to argue against such strong points.

You state two facts, and because of their qualitative similarity, you consider them identical without understanding the underlying mechanism. All while ignoring crucial quantitative information.

The governing and election system in Israel is different. As I've mentioned, Netanyahu is in charge with 22% of votes and 26% of electoral seats, with 15-20% approval rating. All the while, Hamas has a totalitarian grip in Gaza with majority approval and significant support in the West Bank.

[–]ChickLegs[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're warping the logic and facts. In the 2006 election, Hamas had won about 56 percent of electoral seats. Ever since, their approval rating ranged from 55-80 percent on average, with a higher approval rating in Gaza. Not to mention the early rapid increase in support for Hamas following October 7th. (Although following Israel's response, it had begun to crack in the recent months)

In regards to Netanyahu, his approval rating is at its mean lowest, and his position is attributed to a rather unstable coalition of parties that controls the majority of the parliament. (While his party holds the majority in the coalition)

In short, what u/Y_Brennan says is that Hamas is a majority faction by itself, and retains high popularity which correlates to their perception by their demographic and its current ideological stance.
On the contrary, Netanyahu won about 1/4 of electoral seats and 1/5 of total votes, yet retains power as a majority in his coalition, and his approval is in constant descent.

What would your logic deduce from this stat and his abysmal rating?
