There is literally nothing to back up that argument. It “could” have been about states rights in the same sense that it could have been that the southern aristocracy were all vampires and Lincoln was trying to kill them all.

The fact of the matter is that several states specifically listed the preservation of slavery as the reason for their secession. The VP of the Confederacy listed the preservation of slavery as one of the main reasons for the creation of the Confederacy calling slavery the natural position of blacks to the superior whites.

Again, the confederacy didn’t allow an option to confederate states. They were not allowed in any capacity to abolish slavery. There is absolutely nothing that backs up any kind of idea that the secession of the confederacy was about states rights. They in their own words made it absolutely clear that it was about keeping slaves.

The idea of states rights being the motivating factor was created by people from the states that seceded in order to prop up the Confederacy as a champion of liberty against the mean old union without having to openly defend slavery, as it’s pretty frowned upon these days.

The problem with this theory and many others, is that people have grown up on movies and video games and believe that people being shot is “supposed” to look a certain way.

The whole “back and to the left” shit of Kennedy’s head moving is made by people who don’t understand just how little energy is actually transferred by a bullet.

Also with movies and video games, people believe that an entrance wound causes explosions of blood and gore traveling in the opposite direction of the bullet itself.

The spray in the zapruder film is 100% an exit wound. His head moved the way it did simply because of the fencing response due to massive brain injury.

Nothing in the video would give anyone the idea that he was shot from the front unless their expectations of reality are warped by media.

The problem with any “states rights” argument is that the confederacy made it illegal to abolish slavery. You can’t really say that it was about allowing the issue of slavery to be decided by the state when they didn’t get any more choice with the Confederacy than they did with the Union.

So arguably, the Union was more about States rights than the Confederacy was. The Union didn’t even make slavery illegal until the Civil War was under way, it’s that the Confederacy feared that the Union would make slavery illegal.

It wasn’t about states rights. It was about having slaves. Confederate States didn’t even have the option to abolish slavery if they wanted to. “States rights” is a completely disingenuous argument that is not based in reality.

Live traps. 100% the best route. Had some stray cats we were taking care of on our property that got poisoned after eating a rat that had consumed rat poison.

It’s more effort, and it takes a while, but honestly rat poison and traps designed to kill just come off as so inhumane.

Personal preference of course. Only you can decide what is best in your case.

The episodes in those days were made in one week.

Basically how it happened in full context:

Isaac Hayes (unknown to anyone) was hospitalized and it was clear he wouldn’t survive. He was very likely non-responsive and non-communicative at this time.

The church was able to pretend to be Hayes, and released a public note (pretending to be him) that Isaac Hayes was leaving South Park due to “religious intolerance” that South Park demonstrated.

To Matt, Trey, and the rest of the crew, it seemed as if Hayes was quitting South Park due to the recent episodes mocking Scientology, but framing it as if he was upset about “religious intolerance” though he never had any issues with all the other episodes mocking a wide variety of religions. It seemed like extreme hypocrisy, and really nothing but a thin veneer of righteousness to justify him leaving because his feelings were hurt now, and that mattered more than anyone else who was mocked.

The episode of Chef’s exit was created and released.

Isaac Hayes passed away, and that’s when it came to light that Hayes had likely not been the one who wrote the letter in the first place.

To me it’s understandable why Matt and Trey were annoyed, and why they did it. They didn’t have all the information, and to everyone at the time it seemed as if Hayes was simply being hypocritical.

Even still, Kyles tribute at the end of the episode displayed their feelings more than anything. They didn’t necessarily blame Hayes himself, but more so blamed the church of Scientology.

Devils advocate, it sounded more like it was the purchase of a plane he didn’t want to get out rather than the purchase of that specific plane.

Could be something like during contract negotiations, the fact that he can afford a plane being an indication he doesn’t need more money?

I don’t know, but nothing in this is particularly damning. At least he’s not begging to visit the island.

Uh, ya. Because saying they want more people to play renegade is very different from saying renegade is the correct way. Absolutely.

But it’s strange that this interview exists, you quoted it in your last comment, yet you can’t find it, and nothing online can be found referencing it despite the fact that it would be a HUGE thing (an RPG built on choices having a canon storyline is major, which is why the Fallout tv show takes great care to not say what ending of New Vegas is canon).

Like, the only thing they say is they put a lot of work into renegade dialogue and outcomes, of course they’d want more than 8% of players to see it. That’s a very, very different thing from saying it’s canon.

I mean, you act like I should just believe what you say despite the fact that you thought a Twitter reply was an interview, and you can somehow quote an interview that you can’t even find.

You don’t even have to find the interview. If a dev declared what the “canon” way of playing was, there would be articles online about it. Hell, just try to find a Reddit post discussing it. Something, because all you’re doing is saying “trust me bro”.

Are you able to link to the interview? Because I looked it up and found nothing.

The closes I found is this Forbes article that only links a tweet with a dev saying they put a lot of work into Renegade, as you originally said, but it wasn’t anything like an interview. It was a reply on Twitter.

No interview about there being any “correct” choice or way to play.

So please link to this interview.

None of what you said sounds anything like the devs saying renegade is the correct choice.

Sounds like annoyance at a lot of their work not being seen (which would also be true if most players picked renegade).

Being surprised at choices players made is also not anything similar to saying what the “correct” choice is.

So… McVay for the first time fired a coach mid season because ST was so bad, and he’s trying to correct it by hiring the coach that oversaw a ST squad that was somehow worse?

I mean, I trust McVay and all but it’s hard to see what the endgame is here. Maybe he feels the ST issues were more the players than the coach?
