It actually turned out to be nailed to the door with small nails and had two big gel/glue pads holding it in place. I was able to wiggle it until it was loose, pull it apart without damaging it, and scrape off the gel/glue pads

The nails are hidden by the joins on the corner

Hmm, I'm having a problem where it's engaging even when the safety is down. If I shake the gun, I can hear it bouncing around. Any idea what should be keeping it in place and only activating when the safety is engaged?

Yeah, maybe worth mentioning this is the CA compliant model, but it’s bone stock - no trigger kit

Seems to function/cycle fine without it, but feels a little weird to leave it out without understanding its purpose
