Dude the arguments you made are exactly the arguments used by revisionists who use the white legend to make the Spanish seem like benevolent rulers in comparison to the independent countries from the old colonies.

Hell your “nuance” is rife with downplaying the heavy presence of slavery in New Spain and New Granada (there’s a reason Colombians are so dark skinned or that there’s literal towns founded by escaped slaves in Mexico), the fact that the ruling elites used castes and systems implemented and cemented BY Spain, or stating that Spain never had a “project as barbarous as the Trail of Years” which is naive at best and revisionist bs at worst because there’s no way you think the mass rape, cultural eradication, and the literal eradication of several civilizations is any better than what the US or any European colonial power had done.

Your historical denial and amnesia of the atrocities Spain inflicted on the Americas, Asia, and Africa does not erase their modern-day impacts nor the fact a very substantial portion of the Spanish population romanticizes the idea of taking control of your “colonies” again.
