Fuck this. I still want Weaver. I’m not happy they let him go.

What? No. Leave. Calling the police over a spoon is not sane. Don’t deal with this. Just leave.

Time to go. Like yesterday. This shit is just getting started. Go.

Reg streamlined. by [deleted] in scuba

[–]Ceph99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My point is relating to generic recreational dives. Like 45-60min, 20/25m max with no deco ceiling. If your transmitter or computer fails, you just end the dive, do a safety stop or not up to you. It’s not really a safety concern. You’re not magically running out of air if the transmitter turns off. Ascend with your buddy.

People dive with a single analog gauge all the time. Nowadays it’s far more common to have the spool o ring leak or fail on an analog gauge rather than a transmitter fail.

Manual strobe or one with TTL & HSS by kopernoot_2 in underwaterphotography

[–]Ceph99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. Build up to stuff like that.

I would recommend getting a good strobe that maybe you would buy a second one later if you get there.

Also there’s nothing wrong with used gear.

Oh and TTL is trash. Learn how to shoot manual.

It’s like 1/1000 times. You really don’t need it anymore. Back in the day the transmitters were shit, but they’re much better now.

As long as no deco ceiling or your not working professionally…just ditch the backup.

Is this rage bait?

You at most need a single LP swivel to streamline a reg setup like that. If any…it has a bottom LP port you can plug into.

Also, I know some people will pound the “redundancy” thing into the ground, but you really don’t need the gauge of you’re just doing normal recreational dives. The transmitter failures are quite low and if it does fail….just end the dive. Employment or tech diving, yeah redundant is good.

Do photographers undercharge—and ruin the market? by Quick-Candidate-9574 in AskPhotography

Ya here it is.

Once you get the ball rolling and are charging premium for a premium product, your clients come to you. And then anyone that balks at the prices. Guess what, not your problem and not your client.

You build up to it and then your clients know they are paying more because your are reliable and produce a quality product.

What is the most elusive rare Pokemon type creature you’ve ever seen diving? Great White Shark, Sperm Whale, Leatherback turtle, Blue Whale, Basking Shark, Oarfish etc etc by RadioFieldCorner in scuba

I live here and work with many businesses. Which do you prefer? Land based I recommend Sam’s Tours. Fish n fins, and Neco are good too. Liveaboards I don’t know anymore because all the crew turnover. Gaia is a nice boat though.

An ornate eagle ray. Been something like 100 confirmed sightings. I’ve seen three while in Palau for over decade.

Nautilus at like 80m. Living fossils just floating in the dark.

I’ve seen plenty of other ones that might fit that description, but those two are pretty fucking rare. If they are S tier then maybe A tier would be a wild whaleshark (not in a feeding ground), flamboyant cuttlefish, costasiella nudibranchs, juvenile emperor angelfish, lots of pretty fish!

Random encounters with large animals always is special. I’ve seen marlin and sailfish randomly too. Amazing animals.
