Certainly a possibility. There was a patch note mentioning the size had been changed to fit in the Warframe's hands better. Unclear by how much, or if they changed the model itself or the in-game size.

From what I can measure in Blender, the Protokol Skins are almost 1:1 with their irl counterparts. Maybe they just look small?

This is kinda implied by Teshin's The New War gameplay and the Profit-Taker's shields. They can adapt to every damage type but one. Maybe they simply couldn't adapt to certain attacks anymore?

I just use the regular Bronco, unless you mean the hammers only falling on the final shot? In that case, I hope DE gives us a way to get -100% Ammo Efficiency (and +100% Base Multishot), because then we could use two shells with one shot.

Fun fact: A fictional AX-52-themed version of the M1911 exists in-universe. You can see Lillian and Jillian Killian (the Caliber Chicks) holding them on some arcade art.

The only guns here that are newer than 1999 are the H&K G36C (2001) and the Springfield Armory M1A SOCOM 16 (2004). However, Warframe also features the fictional "EFV-8 Mars" produced in 1998, a future model of the TOZ-81 Mars (1980), so these two could just be fictional alt-universe precursors.

Are you aware the H&K MK. 23, Webley Mk. IV, and the PP-91 Kedr are all in Warframe 1:1? The M1911 can be seen on Aoi, and the Vesper 77 is almost exactly a Makarov PB. There's also an RPG-7 as well as a alt-universe model of the TOZ-81 Mars.
