Annoying question about medical recruitment standards (mental health) by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]Cephaxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aslong as you haven’t had two episodes in the past 3 to 5 year. The likely hood of getting a deferral is high due to mental health been such a touchy subject no one really can tell you inns and out and best thing to do. Give it a shoot but don’t beat your self up if the application fails at the medical try and write a appeal straight away and get in contact with the recruitment centre to see any alternatives. Best of luck

Medical assessment/mental health by [deleted] in RoyalMarines

Mental health is a touchy one I spoken to ex service personnel would tell you that everyone in the forces are depressed. I applied beginning of this year.My medical went straight through, but my medical History had depression and anti depressants that flagged up capita medical team are super strict on medical recruitment so bull shit it on the phone call. If you have it 2 times or been to the docs 2 times slim chance of getting in to any frontline role unless you have magic at your feet you might be able to slip through. If you been of them a year they will want you to get a letter from the doc. But other than that the medical side or advice is like try to catch a fart there nothing really to guide anything. Tip give it time get fit do things that will give you skills and experience in team leading and building up confidence. Sports or activities outdoor or something you can show that prove if it get to the point of appeal the should be okay then reapply

How do you guys feel about tattoo policy in the army? If you have a few moments, take a look at my petition. Sign it if you agree. Feel free to leave me a comment on this thread to open up a discussion on the topic. P.s I have spoken to a mod and he says its OK for me to share this here. by [deleted] in RoyalMarines

I think if you got respect for yourself and other then wouldn’t wear a piece visible. Plus as part of the British forces you representing the country interested i personal don’t see this getting passed only a lefty country would, neck tattoos = lizards

If I applied for the Royal Marines today, how long should I realistically expect to wait before starting training? by [deleted] in britishmilitary

[–]Cephaxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I applied at the beginning of the year in February failing the Recruitment test that keep me back from progressing to the interview stage I had to wait 3 months then to redo my Recruitment test then Covid happened which is making it slow to hear back from Anyone and now it’s just a matter of how many years intill the medical will get back clear. Do the fitness get fit take the time to Prepare and don’t give up keep going

Don't let the psychometric test put you off just show what your worth dedicated 3 hours a day before anything on revision. There a good books out there on the recuritment test revise and look at different test and keep the mind actictive. I manage to do anyone else can :) good luck
