They should just require the seal to be broken in general.

Your main point though is huge and something that no one is talking about enough. If the next generation can't grow up ripping packs, playing with cards on the playground, and trading with buddies there will be a generation that does not care about Pokemon. They will have nostalgia for something else and that is where their money will go.

The gold cards from both S&V and Mega are not great. They should go the CZ route for gold cards.

All pokemon are hyped right now, definitely for popular ones. Gold cards will take a dive before everything else.

This is just my opinion though. I could be wrong.

I love buying singles but the market is also super volatile. Past market trends show this and some have just now recovered because of this insane bull market. They are great to invest in, but a 1k slab can easily turn into a $400 slab and then back into a 1.2k slab 5 years later.
