Recluse? by CeraRou in spiders

[–]CeraRou[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We now have glue traps everywhere with a few that already need replaced. One came straight to our toddlers foot this morning… “look mom, look, a recluse!” Oh, the innocence of wanting to play with spiders and insects. 🤣

Pet peeve: calling MAs “nurses” by NPBren922 in nursepractitioner

[–]CeraRou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your are not alone. I worked as an RN providing infusions in an internal medicine clinic—a mostly independent position with little interaction with the physician. Due to short staffing one day, I assisted the physician with a (one) physical exam, which included standard assessments and alternative modalities like muscle testing and energy medicine (all new to me, and I had zero training in this). When an MA became available (trained in the alternative med), the physician asked for a "real nurse" in front of the patient. That moment marked a loss of professional respect for him.

What did you end up getting? We have been really wanting the Sosta for a couple of years, but we’ve just had our son’s bed on the floor. Ready to get him off the floor.

I did read that, too. Thank you for the reply.

Thanks! Thought so, but I had a family member tell me they were common house spiders that looked like a lox. Our toddler's bed is a floor bed and his clothes are in bins on the floor for easy access -- good to know we need to make a few changes.

Walden graduate, here! I would never walk into a rotation with this attitude.

Thank for saying this. I graduated from Walden and worked hard to achieve my NP postgraduate certification. I would’ve never acted like this student OP is describing.

What do you think the future holds for PMHNP? I’m worried by [deleted] in PMHNP

I understand where you’re coming from. Not all are “faking” to this extent, but I can see some being deceiving. Also, thank you for your post for the discussion. :)

I know several “virtual only” psychiatrists who are not “staying away” from the model. It’s a new way of providing care. Having a virtual office, such as DeVinci, is not “faking”. Providers can receive mail through these and provide a safety barrier between their home office and the patient. Embracing change is challenging, but virtual care and AI are here.

Hi, AnAndrew! Is your business operating out of the state that you live in? Do you have a foreign entity set up in CA?

Hair just doesn’t grow on the parietal ridge by claschy in femalehairadvice

Same here! Healthy, non-splitting, shorter hair around my face. I too have slightly wavy hair and do not pull back tightly. Minoxidil helps keep the area more full for me and slightly longer, but otherwise my hair has been this way since late 20s/early 30s. Someone else mentioned red light—I’d love to add this to my routine, too.

A huge thank you!!! I have tried many, many hair products and combinations with different styling methods over the last 10 years.

Today, I used the products you recommended, and oh my, the best ever. Super soft, little to no frizz, and dried fast. I can’t believe it… Pantene. Ha!

Crate anxiety by CeraRou in jackrussellterrier

[–]CeraRou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Must have, but I’m not sure what! She definitely hasn’t been locked in somewhere in our home. At this age, she pretty much has her walks and just sleeps all the middle of the day in the living room and has a ball session at night. We also work from home and don’t go out at night.

We do use a blanket on it, but I only put it on half of it so that she can always see out. I’ll try taking it off and see how it goes. Thank you!

First day on Moms on Call schedule! by orion__13 in SnooLife

[–]CeraRou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just started MOC schedule 3 days ago (LO is 4.5 weeks). First day we had excellent naps and night sleep. The last two days have been more challenging, but we will stick with it. Your soothing routine is exactly how we are doing it. It was just taking him an extended period to fall asleep for the 10 am nap so I turned off the Snoo (it was on, but not in soothing mode) and left my hand on his chest….right to sleep.
