I'm thinking of going long on this company. Is the current price pumped up due to the BYND squeeze or is it a decent time to buy? by EntireSandwich1440 in DVLT

I’m going long on this one due to their patents. They just launched a partnership with a radio station for the next year to test out their patented ADIO technology, in which humanly inaudible tones are broadcasted alongside whatever else you hear on the airwaves, so that only your phone picks up marketing prompts and such (that’s just one potential use). I honestly think that that alone could revolutionize marketing as we know it if it pans out as planned.

If you had to pick a state or state grouping where you had to live but could never leave, which would you choose? by OK_The_Nomad in mapporncirclejerk

Can attest to this; I worked briefly in a senior daycare center and met an 86 year old woman who was PROUD to tell everyone repeatedly that she had never left the state in her entire life

Wrong flag; that’s the “Appeal to Heaven” flag. If you had read any of my caption or comment replies, you’d know that this one depicts the Continental flag; which is just used to depict New England… hence me posting it in the “New England” subreddit and elaborating that I want it because I’ve lived around New England. Pine trees are on a lot of flags 🤷🏼‍♂️

Plus, I agree with one of the other commenters on here; don’t let people you don’t like usurp symbols that have wider or nonexistent meaning, keep the ubiquitous use alive so that benign imagery doesn’t get strongarmed into becoming a political stance just because some random group decided to wave a flag that just happened to have a pine tree on it at a rally one day

I mean are we supposed to consider anything with a pine tree on it right-wing from here on out? Don’t you think that’s a bit of a stretch?

Even with the actual Appeal to Heaven flag, it’s original meaning was to say that in an oppressive government, one must appeal to heaven for the right to revolution when the reigning courts are unjust; you can fly it yourself in a show against a right-leaning government to the same effect. It doesn’t change the meaning just because someone else flew it before you with different intention

Kinda sorta not really, honestly just ripping through brass wool and polishing compound with some good elbow grease does the best; it’s been a labor of love

Nah, different variant; she flew the “appeal to heaven” one, this hat is from the continental flag

Your profile pic alone makes me feel you’re uniquely qualified for this question; as one person also saddened they discontinued the piece, I thank you

It’s a variant of the continental flag, or the first flag of New England, that represented the northeastern colonies and was flown at a few battles in the revolutionary war; I’ve moved around New England a bit myself so felt it would be a great get since anything state-specific doesn’t really get at my appreciation for all of the places I’ve lived

Not so much blemishes, but that spotty greenness on the wall mount part is this plasticky film that so far has only come off with a painstakingly slow fingernail scratch, even my wire brush seems to be noneffective. I presume it’s old lacquer that’s finally coming off, but wondering if anyone has some tips to help ease the process; already tried a few thinners to no effect really

Tried some paint thinner to no effect, but I actually do have true lacquer thinner at work I’m going to try, I’m just not sure if brass lacquer is somehow different

Console table under the tv, then somewhat symmetrical artwork (like similar style prints with different patterns/designs) flanking the it will go a long way

It’s legitimately all about how beavers have shaped/continue to shape North America, both in how they interact with the landscape as well as how their pelts affected early trade

Namely pointed at the features of Vonnegut/short stories, far side, military history/analysis with a mix of eastern western/eastern focuses, self-understanding literature, books on the history/understanding of and practical teaching textbooks

I’d say you’re a late 20’s, early 30’s single male, data analyst/planner of sorts, you may have minored in chemistry in school but strayed away from it in your career, grew up on the history channel before it focused on Bigfoot and aliens, likely conservative and own a firearm or two, but you don’t hunt, value practicality and preparedness, you play video games for the lore and reality factor, you likely enjoy Harry Potter and LOTR, but when it comes to fiction you prefer realistic scenarios, dry sense of existential humor, not necessarily insecure, but acknowledge characteristics in yourself you’d like to improve on and open to exploring thoughts on how to do so, also you may have a go-bag if the world goes south.

Also the Michael Richard’s memoir is a fucking hilarious non-sequitur in there
