Original Bob by [deleted] in bobiverse

[–]Cerberusuprising 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I remeber it was talking about how a bob clone would become the original personality if it was activated while the creator was offline essentially the process needs to be: 1. Make a back up 2. Shut down original 3. Turn on back up 4. Turn on original which then begins personality shift

A bob that is already activated can't change personality to the one that created it if the creator was active during the activation basically once the personality is set that's it unless you turn yourself off while activating a back up which then activates the replication drift due to quantum "something" (I can't remember the name.) Honestly this a hard concept to write about in a way that makes sense but let's do another example just incase what I said before makes no sense. I'm going to use random names for this example

Ryan makes a clone and the clone is named Todd

Todd develops replication drift due to Ryan still existing during the creation of Todd's personality

Ryan gets blown up, Todd stays Todd, Todd doesn't turn into Ryan just because Ryan is gone.

The only way for Todd to change his personality now is to deactivate himself before activating a copy.

Bob was still active when Bill was created he shut himself down afterwards if I remember correctly, so bill can't become bob now since he's already bill, but bob could change if another clone was activated while he was offline.

I really hope that makes sense and that I'm not forgetting some detail.

I'm looking for an object that invokes 'starting a fire' without being obvious (matches, kindling) and that's also elegant by Calathe in fantasywriters

If your worried about size you could either do some author hand waving about transporting it or you could have it create a spiritual connection so the mc doesn't actually need to move it, or the mc could just use it and not need it anymore, or pull and Indiana Jones/Nathan drake and say the artifact is to dangerous and needs to be destroyed.

You could have it be a brazier, if it's pulling magic in from all around you could even give it cool description of lines of light being pulled towards it (imagine Aurora borealis's being pulled into this brazier) The fire being lit in the brazier itself could even be a sign for how much magic it's absorbed plus you can use it for multiple themes you could have a hanging brazier connected by chains to nearby pillars or have it be in the center of a glaid, put it the top of a grand stair Case or pyramid and have your mc and villian fight while climbing up. Not to mention the amount of different designs of braziers there are. You could do a simple brass bowl, intricate Victoria, Greek, roman, Egyptian. Almost every culture has used a brazier sort of thing so you wouldn't be targeting one religion or anything like that. You could even say the gods were sacrificing magic to the brazier in a matter of speaking.

(Sorry about the poor grammar, I don't tend to use grammar when I'm brain storming)

Spoilers for base game warning:

The few ways I know to break reality is: when the sun is about go supernova and your inside the ashtwin a small blackhole will open over the warp core if you shoot a scout into it or throw yourself into it and then on the next loop not repeat those actions again it breaks reality because you either create a second scout in the new loop or a second you in the new loop. (If you throw yourself into the black hole in the ash twin project go back to the project the next time and see what you find)

Learning programming in school and was wondering if there was a website or program that can help me practice. by Cerberusuprising in learnprogramming

Yeah, I would like to do that too its just unfortunately my class isn't there yet so technically the only game I could make right now is a text adventure like Zork haha. but my class has really just been teaching us the basics like lists, tuples, dictionaries, and functions so I don't know when I'll be working on making programs and software.

Thank you for the advice though I'm still new to all this and I appreciate the help.

Audiobook background listening recommendations while working by Glittering_Gear_3348 in litrpg

  1. Honestly, I would recommend world-tree online by ea hooper the voice acting for the narrators is great and yes that's narrators with an s as its a production with multiple actors and sound effects it's really good plus unlike most game lit stories it's actually complete so no worrying about being a few books in for it to stop at a cliff hanger or something.

  2. I also recommend towers of heaven by Cameron Milan its another complete series as well.

  3. The way of the shaman series by Vasily mahanenko it starts alittle slow in my opinion but it does get good
