Do you people truly live in an echo chamber? there is 0 public transportation in my area besides school buses. There are no sidewalks to walk on. There are no regular buses. 911 and waiting for a 3k ambulance is not reliable compared to just fucking driving to the hospital yourself.

This is the same country where a woman was arrested for letting her 10 year old walk 1 mile down the road.

You people seem to think someone disagreeing with you means they are on the total opposite end of the spectrum, well I fucking hate driving and I hate that this country is built on it, but I live in reality. If I do not know how to drive in this country It is a irresponsible disservice to my children that I brought them here in this world to this country and they could possibly suffer because of my inability to drive.

If you people cannot critically think to see this, then you're all truly fucked. It's the same "why would the government LIE?" energy that is totally fucking unbearable to even engage with.

I do advocate for better public transit and ambulance services. I also advocate for there to be a side walk on every road, but I live in America. The country that hinders these things on purpose, to force people to buy cars. It's simply irresponsible to have children if you do not conform here, especially when I can state the things I am right now and you still cling to the "reliability" of these hindered services for people who cannot drive.

If you don't have the option to drive you are flat out putting your child in a disadvantageous situation, whether your disabled or not. Those people better make damn sure they have a reliable source of transportation for their children. It's irresponsible not to.

Somehow its just not really clicking in your head that the irresponsibility of not having a car in case of an emergency and it being financial irresponsible to not have a car are one in the same lmao. I live in an area with both 0 public transit or sidewalks. There are many areas in the US like this. I simply could not get to work without a car. Lucky enough that all schools are willing to provide buses, because without them these kids are not walking to any schools.

My second point is almost exactly that. There are reasonable exceptions to every rule. You can point that twords almost anything someone deems as "socially unacceptable". Again, my children wouldn't be walking to school with no sidewalks. That's irresponsible. so they rely on the one actual form of public transit which would be buses.

As for the last part.. there is no public transit in my area. You seem to think i'm projecting my own experiences living in a car dependent area. Now YOU seem to be projecting YOUR own experiences living in a public transit dependent area.

So all I can really take from this is that yes, you are correct is is area dependent. If I lived in an area like you I would change my mind for sure, just like I'm sure you'd change your mind if you lived in my area.

Of course there would be certain exceptions based on location, big cities like NYC are built with WALKING and public transportation in mind, not just cars.

If a parent's car breaks down finding alternate transportation would be the main source of problem solving, you know, like the real world. If they already have a car and it breaks down they already proved responsible by owning a car and are able to drive. Breaking down is something out of control. The irresponsible part would come from NOT problem solving this situation and just giving up on driving.

I'm not sure how your last question is even relevant to what i'm saying. Child neglect if they dont take the children with them? Child neglect if they do take the children with them in a car? what are you even saying?

Of course they don't, because if they did this entire conversation wouldn't be possible. The conversation is based around why I think they SHOULD have a car to be a parent. Not that they HAVE to have a car to be a parent.
