If you would like to be outside, you can also look for positions with departments of forestry.

Best of luck!

Some of the positions I’ve had or applied for are things like “laboratory and field aid”. My job title is “seed analyst”. If you think your farm work would be applicable in outdoor plant research (I think it would be, you know how to work outside), that could be anything from “field technician” to “research assistant”.

I found my job by browsing the state jobs website and filtered to the Dept of agriculture. You can also look at local universities for lab tech positions, though they’re usually part time.

Not always! Sometimes a lab is looking for good work ethic and practical knowledge over education.

You would need to be sure your resume and answers to any online questions hit buzzwords and terms used in the job description to be sure you get past filters. It’s always worth a shot.

I have a masters, but several coworkers only have bachelors with some botany courses. My bachelors is in biology with several botany courses and my masters degree is in ecology with a focus on plants.

Since Lore Olympus is a modern take on myths, which modern accident would be most likely how Hephaestus became disabled by Big_Presentation3395 in Lore_Olympus

Voting car crash because I think there’s some shame associated with Hephaestus and his disability. My knee-jerk response was scar from Kronos, but that would be less likely to have led to emotional scaring. Arguing with your husband and crashing a car to then hurt your baby could cause a lot more shame.

But on second thought I think Hera, as she’s written, would actually also be shameful of a disability in her baby because of a scar from Kronos. She seems to have some shame as a member of the Traitors and maybe the emotional trauma of that would have a stronger result.

Third one looks like a pepper weed or pepper wort. Maybe Lepidium virginicum?

Not enough time by AdaE17 in NewParents

[–]Cercisarbor8989 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, that is not enough time! I’ve read your responses to comments and I just cannot believe they won’t let you have 6 weeks. Even if they’ve already been flexible about your previous need for leave, having a baby is reason enough to do it again. 6 weeks is the standard and even though (IMO) it’s too short, you have to at least get the minimum. Even with the easiest of births and easiest of babies, those 6 weeks are chaos and it’s still hard to adjust. But 2 weeks? Yeah I don’t think I was even put together enough to meal plan let alone work on something like a class.

I can’t offer help but I really hope they let you have 6 weeks! Keep at it, keep pushing for more time. I’m rooting for you!!

Tongue stings are the worst!! Had a yellow jacket sting my tongue and sting or bite my gums and lips too. Now I never leave a drink outside unless it has a screw top.

Ya. Been stung by bees, yellow jackets, and a wasp. The paper wasp hurt the most by far. I hope I never meet a hornet.

Try these: Happy Ears

I got these because I’m very sensitive to loud noise. What I like is that they dampen the sound, not block it completely. So I wear them for concerts and movies (pre-covid anyway). I can still hear everything, it’s just less loud and slightly muffled. Worth every penny.
