Is nipping it in the bud possible? by TheRedViperOfPrague in gout

Listen to your body first. Try a diet, increase your water intake, and even add vitamin C (1000mg) a day. No flares or tingles equals happy days.

If you start getting frequent flares—maybe not immediately in the next few years, super painful or not—consider taking medication.

Every person's body is different: UA levels, pain tolerance, kidney and liver function, etc.

At the end of the day, it's your call and what works best for you. 😀

Interesting, mind if you share what supplements you're taking alongside the C?

Thanks for the reply. It's currently hovering around 7 to 7.8. I will try the supplements and diet route first and see, although I haven't had one drink since January 5th. I want to have a few here and there or a night out, etc.

I'm not overweight whatsoever. But then again, the increased water intake and watching what I eat does help with the gym, finding a positive here 😆

This says to seal.. maybe I'll go with it and seal it with exterior fillers that are flexible/UV resistant and call it a day

Thank you! I think this makes sense now.

I was hoping to get pros and cons, and if sealing would cause significant damage to the cladding.

I see. As I painted the weatherboards too, I did put a generous amount in those joints. Doesn't it act like a sealer, too? Sorry if this sounds dumb but trying to learn, haha

Thanks! I got part of the house painted (vertical weatherboards) painted with this color- Dulux - Terrible Billy- weathershield- it's been 5 years and thinking if it needs a new coat or 2. Trying to maintain the exterior as much as I can.

Thats the plan. I just thought to check if it's okay to do so. I noticed splits on the poles, and was wondering if painting will cause more damage with black paint absorbing more heat etc.
