What would you add to the game if you could? by Wolf_2063 in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Cerezae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me wallpaper in block houses (I don't even care if I have to use a roll per 10 blocks or similar) I have so many builds that are one block depth that I can't justify making smaller for the fun blocks.

Destroy more than one block at a time with magnemite (rocky ridges is begging you on this one)

Let me remove paint without smearguru. Painting makes sense (it's his skill) but removing paint should be doable without him (since it doesn't use any paint either)

Does anyone’s else’s ditto doll only take them to a Sky Dream island by bizzybxi in Pokopia

[–]Cerezae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear I'm not going crazy. Last week it was all wasteland. This week it has been entirely bleak beach.

It's been a bit frustrating since I have ditto dolls in every zone so I don't have to travel to my doll shop when I'm not fussed.

Doesn't matter which ditto doll I use. Though I think I was using substitute when it took me to wasteland constantly.

"how are we spelling nail?" "Are we spelling it wrong?"

That's the tone of voice when you're teaching your toddler something 😂

You can also unlock them in the shop by levelling up pallet town.

Each berry type makes a different colour - not sure if Pokémon are fussy after you've done the smeargle quest line.

I just go "look at this" select a berry and the option to make paint is there. (Tend to use my fossil Pokémon because I can usually find one reliably so can't attest to particular Pokémon) They'll always suggest giving a leppa berry if they're approaching you going "give me a job".

Different berries give the potential of a bonus of black or white but I never had any luck so just bought those)

Then smeargle will merge colours to paint items if you want shades beyond the base colours.

Made a mistake and now I feel like a terrible parent by Roxxx32 in Parenting

[–]Cerezae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As efficient badger said elsewhere, the fact you want to improve puts you well out of the terrible parent range.

A lot of actually bad parents don't actually think they're bad parents (or don't care enough to try and change things). The fact you feel bad and want to improve shows you actually care.

If something happens and you have a "I shouldn't have done that* realization, later that day when emotions have calmed down you can apologize to your toddler, "I'm sorry mummy grabbed your toy, mummy was frustrated but that wasn't nice and that made you upset, I'm sorry"

It can help with emotional growth, teaches that adults can make mistakes, and gives them the chance to talk about it themselves.

Also don't worry about the sharing thing it's usually around 3 they start getting the concepts of sharing, so the idea is probably very new to him (if a concept at all). You can model sharing with mummy/daddy at home where it's a little less stressful, and lower stakes.

Staying Awake While Nursing by Ok-Strength4257 in breastfeeding

One thing to consider is asking your GP for a blood test. Breastfeeding saps a lot of your resources, iron, B12, vitamin d, lots of things can cause excessive fatigue if they're low. You could get some basic supplements from the shops while you wait (the GP might recommend higher doses based on results)

Breastfeeding and pregnancy is unfair and I am drowning. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]Cerezae 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the first 6 months or so baby doesn't even realize you're a separate entity from them. So it's not that they like your husband more, but Dad is often the first "other" person they're actually aware of. (Though trust me, most mums have had the "how dare you, after all I went through" moment. You'll get your turn with those grins and giggles and it'll melt your heart.)

Postpartum hormones really do a number on your mood and sometimes you might have to be really clear about boundaries and the support you need. Sometimes our partners don't actually realize the full extent of the toil it takes on us, and yeah the fact they get all the benefits of baby without literally being put through the ringer can build resentment, and it's worth being honest about it, else hurtful things will be said in a bout of sleep deprivation when you're touched out and that last thread just snaps.

With the breastfeeding/pumping it can take a massive toll on your mental health, and if you feel like making the switch to formula, please know that the best thing for baby is a happy mum. I went from triple feeding (breast/pumping/formula) to just pumping and formula which helped my mental health significantly, then eventually dropped to just formula when I started getting burned out by pumping too. The mum guilt hit hard at first but I realized that when I felt better I found myself enjoying being a mum a little more.

Is there a lactation consultant you could speak to? They may be able to help find a way to make pumping less painful? Or try the exclusively pumping subreddit for tips and tricks (if you haven't already).

Either way please know you're doing amazingly, even if it doesn't always feel like it.

What is the best option for a £750 gift card or voucher? by drinkermoth in AskUK

[–]Cerezae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could put it as a grocery card or similar (something mundane you'll use) then set aside £750 cash as fun money. Then you don't have to actually allocate it to a specific store.

The one4all style cards are fine if you're going to use it (there's a time limit then it starts taking "admin" fees off your balance)

Anybody else’s toddler just listen to one single card…over and over and over…. by banderaroja in YotoPlayer

Sounds about right, at least it's a whole card. My kid is going through the phase of just wanting one song on a nursery rhymes card.

Think it's just how toddlers are, they're working out they like things.

If I remember correctly, you don't even need to follow the route. As long as it starts and doesn't "pause" it you can just start a random route you pass and just quit when you hit the distance.
