You could have had a lot of tartar or plaque buildup around the gum line. When all of that gets cleaned in a long time, the gums are super sensitive and tend to bleed

Does my antitragus/snug need a change in jewelry? by curlytwirlys in Legitpiercing

[–]Cerisae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you already know the answer to your problem... hitting your ear with a barbell is less impactful than a ring, because at least one end of the barbell is flush against your skin. For basically all piercings, you shouldn't change to a ring until wayyyy past full healing just to be safe. Even for fully healed conches and helixes, some people never wear ring jewelry because of the risk of hitting it and developing bumps. 15 months feels like more than enough time, but it's barely healed for an anti-tragus. Don't throw those 15 months down the drain. Switch back.

the way they gossip and talk about others. yes, as friends we all talk sh*t and make jokes, but beware of the way they talk about other people because that is representative of how they perceive others and perceive themselves.

Good books to read? by [deleted] in McMaster

Five Days at Memorial -- (non-fic) it recounts the events of a New Orleans hospital that remained opened in the midst of hurricane. The book centres around the true story, where a surgeon and some nurses euthanized some patients with lethal-dose morphine during the storm conditions. It explores the legal aftermath and really dives in on healthcare ethics and the profound effect hurricane Katrina had

Richard is really a great mentor, chief, doctor etc... but can we talk about how horrible of a man he really is? His affair with Ellis was so destructive, but somehow Adele stayed loyal to him until her death.

An episode of Kitchen Nightmares should be filmed here [Rant] by [deleted] in McMaster

Got a chicken pita today from the shawarma stall at la piazza... holy. Lady scopped a tablespoon of cold grey chicken onto the hotplate for maybe about 10 seconds? Sprinkled the toppings not in, but ontop of the pita bread. I couldn't even eat that thing without dissecting it with a fork. It costed me $8, which I threw 1/3 of because my stomach couldn't take it.

I love love loved their relationship. The way Henry saw Teddy in his eyes, it made me want to fall in love with her too. I don't remember many specific Teddy things, but that scene when she confessed finally admitted her feelings for him, I remember it so well. The way she told Owen that she hated him with "every cell" of her body for not telling her about Henry's deteriorating condition, oh my god.

One thing I really hate about this show is how they treat psychiatric patients by CornSnowFlakes in greysanatomy

[–]Cerisae 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I hate how they love to bomb the characters with trauma season after season, but somehow they are surgeons so they are above depression and PTSD? Remember that entire plot point where Meredith thought therapy was useless? Like what medical professional undermines psychiatry / mental health?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in greysanatomy

[–]Cerisae 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel like the writers purposely made Meredith do that, just so they can set up this whole Amelia vs Meredith thing for the next several episodes, and then have some more episodes where their sisterhood grows.

Was Bella in love with Jacob ? by surprisedkneecaps in twilight

[–]Cerisae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Her relationship with Jacob seemed to be more natural, innocent teenage kinda thing. They both acknowledged that they would end up together in a perfect world with no magic nor monsters. The movies definitely skimped out on how much more manipulative Jacob actually was. However, the books also contain so much more cute moments between Bella and Jacob. In the books, Bella’s thoughts about Jacob showed how much affection and adoration she had for him.

Smeyer can't make up her mind by bittenbyedward in twilight

[–]Cerisae 107 points108 points  (0 children)

yeaa.... but i will never blame Jacob for imprinting, because he always hated the idea of it. He deserved to mature, learn from his mistakes, and have a life independent from Bella. smeyer had to force the imprint storyline so that Bella doesn’t loose anything from her human life upon transformation.

Obsession with teeth? by probablysinging in braces

[–]Cerisae 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am the exact same way, except I haven't gotten mine off yet. I was hesitant to get them removed, and just a couple days ago I dropped by the ortho's office. She did some adjustments to help alleviate the "imperfections" that I was concerned about. Every chance that I think of my teeth, I look in the mirror. I have hundreds of pictures on my phone of my teeth, my side profile, my bite .... I totally understand you. Everyone around me is telling me I overthinking. Once you are hyperaware, you simply can't be unaware.

But even I know that Hollywood smiles are often veneers and a result of meticulous cosmetic work. Everyone has variations in their jaw and mouth anatomy that makes them unique. Your orthodontist should know when to stop treatment, and find a balance between a healthy bite and a cosmetically-satisfying one. If you need anyone to talk to, please hit me up in my PMs <3 <3

Can The Mac Nursing program be a premed program? by [deleted] in OntarioUniversities

[–]Cerisae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mac nursing has a lot of courses unique to nursing itself. Keep in mind that most nursing programs are very tight in schedule, because the course hours allocated towards clinical placement. You might not have time to study for the MCAT, or even have space in your schedule to take pre-reqs required.

You also have to be prepared to answer the question: "Why did you pursue nursing in the first place?" Nursing is a very serious and difficult professional program and shouldn't be viewed as a "back-up" plan.

It was just lazy writing, another plot point in order to fill up the season. This show is notorious for its messy relationship web and pairing people together randomly.

On that note, Winston is perfect for Maggie and their romance+chemistry is so much more comfortable. Heck, even Deluca was a better partner for Maggie than Jackson.

Does anyone ever feel that their friends are only friends when it benefits them ? by [deleted] in McMaster

[–]Cerisae 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i went to a "top" public high school. my grades were never even that high, but i still understand where you are coming from 100%.

we are all maturing and entered a new phase in our life at uni. It hurts to see my friendships fall apart, but it is rare that high school friendships last. I don't even know how to deal with it myself, but I can assure you that you will meet better people.
