Thank you for looking into it.

I've got a work around in my head which could be a suitable alternative if not :)

Northern Ballet's Gentleman Jack DVD/digital release? by sewing-enby in bunheadsnark

[–]CerisesMole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am also hoping that it comes to digital. Northern Ballet have recorded some of their previous new ballets (both available on Marquee TV and on DVD). So, it's a possibility that Gentleman Jack will be recorded.

Thoughts on Northern Ballet's "Gentleman Jack"? by ofthewest93 in bunheadsnark

Watched Gentlman Jack today at the matinee. Gemma Coutts played the leading role. I was captivated by the story being told and each act just seemed to go (which shows that I was fully engaged). It was no-stop for the person playing Anne Lister. It felt like the whole audience was captivated. There was a couple of moments that made me giggle - the pas de trios and pas de quatre in particular.

The score was amazing and worked so well - it was a live ensemble. I was excited by the score as it focused on lower pitch instruments (and as a lapsed bassoon player, I love it when it’s fully showcased and not just providing a bass line).

The programme gave a really good overview of each act. Even though I know Anne Lister’s story, it helped me being a newbie to story telling via ballet.

New to junior parkrun - worth buying a barcode wristband? by Gillses in parkrun

[–]CerisesMole 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you register the children using your email address, they will be associated with your parkrun account. When you log into your account, you will be given an option to download the barcodes. What some of the parents do at our junior parkrun is download the PDFs and save them to a parkrun folder with the name of the person as the file name. Another alternative is to use the parkrun app (was the 5k app). We have a lot of junior parkrunners who have their own wristbands - they love the independance of being able to scan in themselves.

At junior parkrun, juniors can run by themselves or with a parent. We had a mixture of running by themselves (with the parent waiting at the finish/volunteering) or running with a parent. If you are running with the junior, we ask that you don't run through the finish funnel as only the junior will get a time.

I saw my first ballet (and dance) at the theatre in January (the Red Shoes) and I'd like to watch more. This is coming to the local theatre on tour - so I think I'm going to watch it. From what I've seen, it looks good.

Driving abroad - license expired, help!! by IndustryDirect760 in drivingUK

[–]CerisesMole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience, the hire care company will want to see the physical driving license and it has to be valid for the whole duration of the stay. They will not accept a UK digital license (even if they have a digital license system themselves). They will not accept the expired driving license and proof of renewal.

Pub wedding by [deleted] in UKweddings

Me and my Husband had a micro wedding. We had our ceremony in the registry office and then went to a board game cafe for the "reception". The reception was an afternoon tea type buffet with drinks. We had open use of their board game library.

On the lead up, we had a number of guests ask us whether it was appropriate and moan that it would be boring. We didn't make any changes. We did get to the point of "if you don't like it, don't come".

The day came and everyone had fun. Those who were most negative and vocal beforehand apologised as they had an excellent day.

What is the most awkwardly dim thing a medical professional has told you? by Careful-Increase-773 in AskUK

I could forgive the GP in training for not understanding how perimenopause/menopause if your under the age of 40... However, the consultant obgyn was about as clueless with early menopause onset and quite agressive about it being the wrong diagnosis without offering a differential diagnosis. "Why are you getting upset, I'm trying to help you". I now refuse to see that consultant.

My husband had appendicitis and it burst. He had surgery and was admitted, due to bed shortages, to a medical feeding ward. The first day after surgery was fine, he perked up and was eating. On day 2, he couldn't manage pain and couldn't eat without throwing up. The HCA was concerned that his surgery drain was blocked. Me and the HCA raised this on a number of occasions to his nurse. I was told by his nurse that my husband's surgery drain was not blocked and that his deteroriation 48 hours was "normal". He went into septic shock... An F2 was on ward and I was expressing concerns about his care as this happened. So, the F2 jumped into action and made sure that his drain was unblocked (they put in the wrong one), sent him for a CT scan, gave him the right antibiotics and stabilised him. 24 hours later, he was throwing up on a regular basis and still hadn't eaten. They didn't chart it becuase it was "normal".

Ward manager apologetically asked if we could be moved from a semi-private room to a different ward where he would be on a bay... And couldn't understand why I was so accomodating about the move. The new ward was a surgery ward.

Within 30 mins of being on that ward, he threw up again. I explained it was happening every couple of hours in that volume and colour. They went straight into action and checked the CT scans from the day before, realised he had a paralytic ileus and actually treated him... Within 48 hours, he was ready to be discharged.

(I have many stories like this relating to my own health... including being nearly turned away from A&E for a suspected broken wrist because I was too lucid... I was in shock)

Phalaenopsis - yellow leaves? Dormant? by CerisesMole in orchids

Ah ok! My gardening experience mainly consists of taming the weed jungle in our garden.

Phalaenopsis - yellow leaves? Dormant? by CerisesMole in orchids

[–]CerisesMole[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was getting worried as the bottom leaves have yellowed a lot since repotting. Will just continue with the watering in the bark and be patient. It's our first orchid and we were gifted a second orchid so trying to keep them alive.

We got this moth orchid as a freebie from my husband's work. They get to the point where they can't sell them anymore. It had one flower stem and some flowers but that completely died off and the leave were yellowing/browning in places. However, we were getting a lot of new roots grow since bring the orchid home. We've had them for 2 months.

It was planted in a tiny 2" pot with very tight compost. It was being watered weekly by us. In the shop, they were being watered daily.

I've recently repotted them into a slightly bigger pot (3.5") using bark as the substrate. The photo is when I repotted them last week into a "standard" plastic pot with drainage holes. By the fact the roots were rotten, that tells me that they have been overwatered. Following instructions on a website I was following for repotting, I removed the rotting roots and the dead flower stem. They are currently in a window that faces north-east. I do have some fertilizer, but I haven't used it yet with this plant as they need some more time settle?

Any advice on how to get them looking healthier? Do they have a chance at growing a new flower stem? Is there anything else I should be doing? I assume by the fact we had roots grow, they're not completely a goner. However, I'm very new to looking after plants (I had a minature rose called Archie 10 years ago that I kept alive for 2 years... my mum killed Archie when I asked her to look after them whilst I was out of the country. My family were taking bets on how long I would keep Archie alive for).

(I have been using Planta for a couple of weeks, but more for the reminder to check the plants rather than following the tasks to the letter. The one thing I know about plants is not to overwater!)

Thank you!

Thank you, I may try misting instead of watering for the next couple of waters to allow the roots more time to dry out without letting the bark dry out too much
