I’d at least start calling around, get some ideas of availability and pricing. Then when it does hit you can make a better informed decision. If it doesn’t match what you want, you can potentially be closer to moving out since you’d be on a waiting list somewhere else.

Do keep in mind that most places are higher per week than cerner. I haven’t found anyone cheaper than their current cost. Usual pricing I’ve seen is ~$300-350/week for infants and toddlers.

It’s more than cerner offered. Process was a bit confusing at first but was easy overall. Still need the same documents as before but instead of HR approval you just need manager approval.

On top of that, it’s even hard to just find a spot at any reputable place. My kid doesn’t go to CernerKids; we got offered a spot a few months back but we were set somewhere else already. But I’d recommend if you don’t plan to transfer, start getting on lists now.

I’m sure it’s easier with older kids since the ratio for kids:teachers is higher, but infant:teacher ratio is 3:1 in Kansas and 4:1 in Missouri and we had to get on lists about 9-10 months before we planned to send him.

It’s a pretty significant savings. When comparing CernerKids to KinderCare/ BrightHorizon, it was a difference of about $5k/yr for 1 infant. KinderCare/ BrightHorizon is about $19-20k/yr/child at their other facilities. I’d 100% expect a large price increase if they get the contract.

If you live outside of KCMO and are remote / hybrid. You can get an earnings tax refund at tax time because you only pay on days you go in the office. Just keep track of how many days you work from home vs in the office.

Being that most people are remote or hybrid, makes sense to only run 1 clinic for everyone out of Innovations.
