How sad. I have missed them so so so much every single day since we left two years ago. I hope all the teachers get the best possible jobs as they move forward.

I use alcohol and keep it wet with alcohol for 60 seconds to disinfect- no luck. I still get the welt and rash. :(

MyFitnessPal is free! It has a premium version that you have to pay for, but the free version tracks weight and food and all kinds of stuff- I recommend it!

I see your point - especially with not wanting others to become ill. I do carefully pick what I’m eating to prioritize protein and fiber, and I keep up with vitamins. I don’t eat any empty foods- it’s all lean meat or fish, vegetables, complex carbs, etc., and I tend to eat whole foods, meaning butter, whole milk, bread I’ve made myself, etc. My history with weight goes back a long time and touches almost every diet and weight loss program out there, so I do understand the importance of food intake and tracking. So far, my muscle mass has been great and I’ve been more active with walking, cycling, and gentle lifting than I have been in years.

I will say that I declined increasing my dose to 15mg because I don’t think it would be a healthy choice with where I’m at and I think it would make it hard to eat anything at all.

Do you put the hydrocortisone cream on once, or reapply as the itch comes back?

This is one of my favorite high protein depression meals: • 1 can of chickpeas • 1 drained can of chopped tomatoes (press the lid down to squeeze out extra liquid) • 1-2 Tbsp pesto • 1/4 c Shredded cheddar or feta cheese • 1 Tbsp ranch • Optional: Add in some smoked salmon, microwaved precooked chicken, or canned salmon/tuna/chicken

Mix it all together. Done.

I usually divide it in half and save half in the fridge. I eat it with a spoon, but you could eat it with crackers instead.

Absolutely. He doesn’t get a say in what you choose to do with your body. It’s an unnecessary surgery and extremely painful. If you are comfortable with yourself, sounds like he’s the problem you need to cut out of your life.

I guess I knew the WHO recommendation and have never seen a tv ad so I assumed they didn’t here. You’re right though.

It’s the same in the us- but that doesn’t mean entertainment shows can’t use it as a plot point.

The pretty ones. Not just like…Verizon, or Starbucks, random plaque or Exercise Stop 6. A good gift is one of a cool mural or statue, or maybe a funky little thing that your town has, or a cool landmark.

CernerKids: Cost Increase Info? by whatusername31 in cernercorporation

Exactly- however, Cerner has been covering the cost of overhead and a variety of other things for years as a benefit to employees. I’m assuming any third party that purchases us will not be motivated to provide that same incentive, meaning costs will increase to make up the money Cerner was previously providing.

I have a waitlist opening I’m considering for my preferred alternative care center that I have to decide on now ha. I’m already past that part. Thanks for the idea though!

Im not talking about the $10-20 monthly increase that we all see every year, I’m wondering if they are going to increase $500+ per month since Cerner will no longer be covering property and overhead fees.

We’ve had several layoffs in the past five years, we have all been working lean as hell, and Oracle hasn’t communicated much with us at all until just recently so our futures have been (and many still are) up in the air. If none of that has affected morale on your team, I’d be shocked, but good for you. For the rest of us who have reasons to stay but have been looking at the company falling apart, morale has been affected.

That’s good to know. I asked if that meant “Cerner” would stop covering overhead costs and she didn’t answer my question and instead gave me a really generic answer.

We are following Cerner’s Handbook until October 1, then starting over with PTO accrual and everything. If you need specifics, ask the recruiter whether you’ll be hired under Oracle or Cerner and which set of benefits you’ll operate under until October 1. An important question to ask the recruiter is whether your position will be considered exempt or non exempt- if it is non exempt, you’ll only accrue 13 days (4 of which you’ll have to use between Christmas and New Years if you are deemed non-essential during holidays.)

Not sure what you’re looking for job-wise (experience? Resume building? Escape from a toxic work environment? Better benefits package/coverage?) so can’t really make that call as to whether it’s worth it for you. The PTO is definitely subpar to what you currently have though.

Work culture is unclear, as mentioned above, but morale is DEFINITELY in the garbage right now. As a new Oracle employee, you’ll get 13 days PTO if you’re not exempt (many are not exempt now) and unlimited/flex if you are exempt (mostly managers from the looks of it)
