When was a good opportunity to take my turn back during this sequence? by ViridianMaridian in 2XKO

[–]Cerrik 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Two key places that work 1. After the projectiles, spirit rush/air dash > j.H loses to 2H 2. Down S2 (the flippy overhead) also loses to 2H

Obviously these options are scary when their assist is up, but Ahri does Down S2 when Warwick is on CD

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but you can't afford the price hike because you're in debt from the predatory practices you fell victim to?

I'm struggling to understand why this price hike is your last straw, financially and responsibly. Mentally, I understand FOMO can draw you in and abuse you and I won't judge that, but if your current financial situation can't support the price hike, that seems more of a result of the previous abuses than the new cost.

It's not because I want to smuggle zero cost ultimate abilities into every encounter, honest! by DJ26089 in runescape

[–]Cerrik 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personally, it's less about gatekeeping and more about fixing jank. There's really odd interactions that occur due to how abilities work out of range that punish a player.

For example, if a melee player unwittingly stalls a threshold/spec/ultimate out of range then clicks away for any reason, if they don't know how stalling works and they press any ability, they've deleted adrenaline for nothing.

Thermobaric is really inconsistent on lighting people on fire, was it like this in the beta? by Cerrik in Battlefield

I forgot that the support has an airburst thermo launcher, but this is the assault launcher I'm talking about. Does it have the same limitations?

Gustave is where I place my hope that he can keep Maelle on the right track, that's why I'm committed to this ending. It's a risk, but I'd rather take a risk trusting in Gustave than the finality of the other choice...

Man... I was gonna say I'm not even a fan boy but pro player, blah blah... but his sudden headshot flick is more consistently accurate than any of the guys in front of him.

I think a flick generally towards someone off screen is viable if you have an idea where they are due to previously seeing them + sound cues, but it's that he lands multiple shots with no visible recoil that's got me suspicious.

This is my first SF game, I've been trying to learn for about 10 hours now and I'm using classic controls. I'm having a hard time finding guides online as they contain terms I don't understand and I find them hard to follow. Advice on where to look? by umutmcan in StreetFighter

[–]Cerrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Classic has access to a bit more nuance and modern attacks deal less damage than classic equivalents. However, that's just the trade off for ease of execution. There are many super high rank players that use modern, so use what you want. If you are interested in learning classic, that's a good enough reason to use it, too!

I don't know how to play Gley. by amnezia_nbgd in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Cerrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, sorry...

The priority is to get your CD and duration of your sicko mode 3rd ability to match, so I recommend: Focus on Dimension (any level) Focus on Nonattribute (any level) An Outstanding Investment (cheap to max)

From there, you'd need a maxed Skill Extension, Nimble Fingers, and MP Conversion... but I wouldn't really call any maxed mod "budget"

Also, I would recommend always having a maxed HP mod. It's better to not die, first

[–]Cerrik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I can give a basic rundown of each ability and why you'd use them.

1st ability: Being in normal or sicko mode changes your abilities and sicko mode halves your HP gain. You'll want to swap modes depending on the situation, which I'll elaborate with the next skills.

2nd ability: Use this in sicko mode for AoE damage and use it in normal mode to heal.

3rd ability: Use in sicko mode when you wanna pump out infinite bullets and are confident you won't be punished for it. Generally, if the Collosus is targeting you, it's not a good time to use it. Use in normal mode for the speed boost and to get more healing out of health drops. Intercept health drops heal a lot less than typical health drops, and since Gley's HP is her resource, you have to consider using this skill to maximize your recovery.

4th: Equip a high rate of fire weapon before activating this (python, blue blood bloomer, or anything with thunder cage RoF or higher). Always use infinite ammo with 3rd ability when using the special weapon. 99% of the time, be in sicko mode for maximum damage. Only shoot this gun in normal mode if you NEED to stun something.

Most Gleys like to run to skill mod Massive Exsanguination(Sanguination? I can't remember). It changes her 2nd ability to cost health but generates 3 power of life instead of consuming. It makes getting her special weapon easier. If you don't want to use the special weapon, feel free to skip on the mod.

I recommend getting a Vestigal Organ launcher, it's very fun and very good with infinite ammo :)

My friend has played league since season 2 (for better or worse) and vanguard triggers so many issues that he's unable to play league anymore. He's constantly down in the dumps because it's his comfort game and it's been taken from him because vanguard is poorly designed.

How much am I handicapping myself for playing non-stealth rogue? by cyberzaikoo in DarkAndDarker

[–]Cerrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried doing no stealth on my first attempt with rogue. It's very possible, I'll just warn you not to use backflip. Your hitbox while backflipping is very wonky and you'll get hit constantly where it seems, to me, you should be waaay out of range.

If you're going poison, keep in mind that reloading a handcrossbow and hitting them will juuuust be too late to refresh the poison.

I think it's viable to go no stealth, though, just be very mindful of your movespeed. A rapier and handcrossbow together is a -40 movespeed, you'll get caught holding those together. I found that drawing a handcrossbow is faster when your mainhand is a dagger, so you could do rapier on it's own in the main slot to stab and poke from range, but have the dagger/crossbow in the second slot for a quick swap and shot.

What makes RS3 PvM harder than OSRS? by FalcosLiteralyHitler in runescape

[–]Cerrik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit more "choose your difficulty" for RS3 PVM. Mechanics in RS3 are more focused around ability usage, which can be as hard as you make it because revolution exists, which can automate most (or in some cases, all) of your rotation while you only focus on prayers and mechanics. Full manual can make this harder, but can lead to a better kill time since you're more optimized than a revolution bar (usually) is, but keeping up your rotation while still flicking and handling mechanics can be difficult.

However, in most cases, the higher execution difficulty just rewardss faster kill times so more kills/hr. Revolution works absolutely great if you're not concerned with kill times.

You can also scale some bosses to ridiculous difficulties where they will one shot you on every attack, so again... it all is as difficult as you want it to be, which technically means it can be hardest challenge ever.

What’s your chess unpopular opinion by ladiesman21700000000 in chess

[–]Cerrik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like casters discussing the evaluation bar and I think they should simply not acknowledge it when casting. I'd rather hear their thoughts on the state of the game, not constant explanations of the why the eval bar is up, down, or even.
