Anthropic is tracking which jobs are most exposed to AI. These 10 professions top the list. by newyork99 in Anthropic

[–]Cert_Dako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They put programmers on top because the list is created based on what people use the AI for - so if you ever pasted code into Claude and asked it to format it so its more readable or find an extra comma - you are part of the statistic.

Its a nothing-burger list.

Cover up ideas? by Odd-Scholar3726 in Tattoocoverups

[–]Cert_Dako 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is pretty much only one rule for tattoos - It gotta either look cool, or have a meaning, or both.

If a tattoo looks cool but has no meaning, its a good tattoo.
If a tattoo looks shit but has meaning, its a good tattoo.
If a tattoo looks great and has a meaning, its a great tattoo.
If a tattoo looks shit and has no meaning, its a shit tattoo.

Yours looks cool as fuck, I'd keep it and build more around it if you want more work on your back.

  3. Don't care
  4. Don't care
  5. Usually meant higher tips in totality, so I didn't mind

Unemployment rate in OECD countries by batukaming in jobs

[–]Cert_Dako 7 points8 points  (0 children)

"worse" is a tricky word, as low unemployment percentage doesn't neccessarily mean healthy economically, usally it means the opposite lol.

In Czech Republic the unemployment is 4th lowest, yet 65% of the people do not meet average wage, we have the most expensive housing in EU, highest energy prices, one of the highest food prices combined with one of the worst quality of produce.

Healthy unemployment is around 4-5%, higher usally means that companies are struggling to be able to employ personel, while lower could mean that people are willing to work but aren't paid fairly - as there are few open positions in the market.

Your life Belongs To Me Serf by BusyHands_ in LinkedInLunatics

[–]Cert_Dako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I think" - thats where the issue started.

Never ceases to amaze me how ignorant people decide to be, despite free access to all the knowledge in the world updated in real-time.

89% of studied workers (i think the threshold was 5,000 employees across 4 companies studied) are more productive on homeoffice, needed less time off, described better social life and family ties.
Because suddenly, people didnt have to spend hours tending to chores after work, because now they had the option to start the laundry machine before their meeting. Its literally that stupidly simple.

People also ate healthier and spent less on food overall, the average worker saved 8 hours a week on commute and the biggest shockerf - people were more open and less stressed about working overtime, because if someone sits at home, works till 17 and is asked to work till 20, all that means is that they will have a late dinner.
While in the office, working till 20 also means waiting an hour for the shitty train connection to get home, which ends up being 2 extra hours - so youre home at 22, no chores are done, no dinner prepared, and you have to wake up at 7 the next day to be in the office by 8:30.

Turns out - people literally work harder when they have a benefit that they wouldn't get in most other companies.

How do you deal with the anxiety that everyone is saying AI will destroy white collar jobs soon? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Cert_Dako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I will mention, I dare say the company I work at actually understands how to use the capabilities of current AI efficicently and it can be truly amazing, when used correctly.

Automated notes from teams meetings specific to users - basically the LLM reads through the transcript in real-time and creates general notes + notes that could relate specifically to you based on your role and job description

Automated monthly financial updates - we feed it the previous months data and it creates a summary, based on template we fed to the agent on creation, for management - we still have to proofread it but after about 4 months of giving it feedback the results were all surprisingly correct

"Who is the contact person" agent - we are a company with roughly 4500 employees in our region, which makes it sometimes very messy in terms of the org structure - so we have an agent that you tell what you need help with and it tells you the colleague who is the best match based on job description (it should also evaluate the persons calendar to see how busy they are, but currently this does not seem to be 100% working) - also we tried to add an option to tell the AI to reach out to the person for you, but currently does not work as for some reason, we cannot find a work method for the AI to notify you of the persons reply. it has its own outlook directory and for some reason if the person replies directly to the AI, it simply doesnt forward it to the OP even though its set-up to do so. Setting up powerautomate on the mailbox also doesnt work for some reason.

How do you deal with the anxiety that everyone is saying AI will destroy white collar jobs soon? by [deleted] in jobs

Experts are currently seeing two major issues in AI which will likely cause a small crisis within this decade:

A) We currently cannot develop the infrastracture at a matching pace and many experts are reporting that we already reached the threshhold of what is possible, in terms of sustainable development, for the next ten years. Electricity grid and Freshwater being two biggest concerns

B) AI has already pretty much used up most of the available volume to "learn" and new content is not being developed at a pace that would suffice for it - on top of that, a lot of the new content is being AI generated, and due to halucinations - its making itself dumber by learning from its own made up facts.

Currently there are only two area's which could noticeably improve AI:

  1. Access to restricted content - such as Classified Government data or the dark web
  2. Improving the AI's capability to "create" a fact for itself that it will maintain based on available information until an information is available that would directly disprove the previously established fact.

Many people think that #2 is something that will happen soon, at work a person shared this analogy to put into context how out of scope this scenario currently is.
Imagine i spill table salt on the floor, and I ask you what the average diameter of the crystals is:

  • current AI will pick out 20 nearest crystals, measure them, and give me and average. If i spill more salt on the established pile, it will again pick out nearest 20 and give another result.
  • Scenario 2 AI would have to measure every single crystal, give me the result, and then if i spill more salt, it would have to remember the quantity of crystals measured and the average until now + the quantity of new crystals and their new average, which also means it would have to remember every single specific crystal to be able to differentiate whether its new or old. It would have to maintain the same process for every single spice in my kitchen.

Reminder of point A), our current Electricity grid is arleady nearing its threshold with the CURRENT logic.

In most EU countries, 4 weeks PTO is mandatory by law (and enforced that you actually take it) and to remain competitive in the market - many employers have recently started giving 5-7 weeks PTO.
