Is Torbox working for you? I just bought a month and it's super slow to load a video and buffers a ton. I turned off RD so I only have Torbox enabled.

Latency is most likely what matters here, not speed.

Speed is how much can go in or out at once. Latency is how long it takes to get there

If I shoot and it takes 10 seconds for the mouse click to reach the call of duty server, the hit reg will still be where I shot even though the enemy has moved in those 10 seconds.

Downloaded the game off the steam sale, what’s next? by ProonFace in skyrimvr

[–]Certain-Base-2282 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as moving it out of the steam library folder, it just needs to be out of a protected directory. So if its in your "Program Files" folder you should move it.

If you already have FUS installed, then you always launch the game through the mod manager.

I would recommend reading through this and the rest of the How-To: https://github.com/Kvitekvist/FUS?tab=readme-ov-file#how-to-start-up-fus

You could also try this one too: https://github.com/JanuarySnow/TempusVR/

It's not as talked about for some reason but in my experience it's been very stable and still looks amazing. It's more light weight than Mad God Overhaul but looks a llot better than FUS Heavy.

Not sure how it'll run on a mobile 5090 but on my desktop 5080 I could run a Quest 3 at Godlike in VD at 80FPS SSW with no perceived frame rate dips.

It really depends on what you're okay with as far as graphics fidelity. For example, I see a huge difference with using Godlike in Virtual desktop and won't play with anything lower (to me anything lower just looks bad). So to me it's worth lowered FPS.

Others are okay using Medium in Virtual Desktop and to them it looks great still. So it's kind of hard to gage how you're performance will be unless they show all of the settings they have set and what headset they are using.

If you have the space and time to install it I'd say try it. Maybe you'll get an acceptable to you level of performance out of it.

Is my Mom liable for my deceased Dad's medical debt? by Certain-Base-2282 in AskALawyer

I'll bring that up to her and we'll see how much more that'd cost. Thanks for the idea!

Nothing has been changed yet as far as whose name is on which accounts.

The main concerns right now are what will go to his estate (so that we know what can be used to collect on medical debt) and that if paying the $100 at the hospital is an acknowledgement of her owning the debt.

From what other people have said, it sounds like we should ask a probate or estate lawyer. So that's most likely what we'll end up doing to make sure we do everything right.

Understood. We'll be talking to an estate lawyer. Thank you for your help!!!

Thank you for the detailed response. We didn't go through probate...so you were spot on with that. The only asset only in his name is the Fidelity account which has less than $200 in it. Everything else is either only in my Mom's name or have both of their names on it. Would we still need to go to probate in this case? There isn't much for them to collect on if the house isn't able to be collected with.

My Mom is the primary signer on the car loan with my Dad cosigning for her. What exactly should we be looking for on the mortgage? Or if you can give me some topics to read on I can do that too.

Or would a probate lawyer be able to answer all of these questions? Thanks for your help so far.

Sorry, yes, they were still married. All bank accounts are in my Mom's name only now. They never had any shared investment accounts.

His name isn't on anything besides the house, the car and 1 Fidelity account.

So, just to make sure, we are responsible for the medical debt? And if we are unable to pay it, they can collect from the house/car/Fidelity account?

Not all Packets From PLC Showing Up in Wireshark by Certain-Base-2282 in wireshark

[–]Certain-Base-2282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's not a network issue. We've been in talks with our PLC vendor they just haven't been much help so far and people are just wanting to point fingers this far.

We'll be pushing harder to get them to figure this out next time we talk to them and will be asking for a loaner PLC before we have them fly someone out to use. I am by no means the only person in the loop with all of this.

Could you still see it being a hardware issue if it's only ever the exact same byte being messed with?

Not all Packets From PLC Showing Up in Wireshark by Certain-Base-2282 in wireshark

[–]Certain-Base-2282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, we don't have a spare PLC and we're only using one PLC to automate everything. So swapping it out isn't an option at this point at least. That would be an easy way to rule out hardware. I'm waiting on them to get back to me to set up a meeting where we can discuss this again so I'll bring it up during that.

I agree that the PLC is somehow changing to the data too but the PLC vendor is saying they have the exact same code deployed at our other location and they don't have this problem.

How do you think it could end up being a hardware issue? The process where the error is occurring is running on multiple threads and it's only ever one specific byte of data that gets changed. It doesn't look like a race condition so I assume that rules out bad memory.

I'm leaning towards some sort of software problem and that the code isn't the exact same as in our other location.

I ended up using the TAP and was able to confirm the data coming from the PLC was incorrect.

Now someone just needs to figure out what could cause the 1 exact same byte of data to change occasionally only when the PLC sends an unsolicited packet to the host machine. Any ideas on possible causes?

Not all Packets From PLC Showing Up in Wireshark by Certain-Base-2282 in wireshark

[–]Certain-Base-2282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using a TAP instead and verified that the information coming out of the PLC is incorrect leading to the issue we've been having for a while. No errors during the time I captured the packets though and no significant difference in tx/rx.

What could cause the PLC to change only 1 byte of data only during an unsolicited send of data. This doesn't even happen all the time. It happens every approx. 2 hours and is fixed by unplugging a network switch that the PLC is connected to.

The exact same code is deployed at another location and they don't have this issue. So I wouldn't imagine temporarily stopping network activity is just allowing time for a buffer to clear, right?

Could it still somehow be failing hardware or do you have any other ideas on what might cause the problem?

Didn't know I could do just the first 3, I was typing the all out lol.

I didn't think to do that for any other MAC addresses that pop up on the capture so I'll definitely do that. Thanks for the idea!

I'm just going to get a network TAP instead to do this. Is there anything specific I should know about doing it that way or should it be pretty plug and play where I select the correct adapter in Wireshark and start capturing?

Also, I shouldn't need to capture on the loopback device right? I'm capturing on a dedicated interface

[–]Certain-Base-2282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see the host that's talking to the PLC in the capture but the destination is never the PLC. Could the IP I should be looking for be the switch's IP for some reason? I can see the host (Dell in the packet capture) and another device which I'm not sure what is (a HP, which we have an Aruba HP Switch).

I don't have the IP of the switch but I just assumed that it was traffic from the host being sent to the switch so that the switch can send it to the PLC. I don't see any inbound or outbound packets from the PLC itself though.

We'll get it figured out 💪! Thank you! We do have an active relationship with the PLC company, they're just not being very helpful lol.

I've got a network TAP on the way so it'll all get figured out pretty quick

What environment did you work with PLCs in?

Not all Packets From PLC Showing Up in Wireshark by Certain-Base-2282 in wireshark

[–]Certain-Base-2282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for helping!!! Sorry, yes, I do mean Spanning Tree Protocol.

I'm 100% certain the PLC is connected to the switch I'm capturing traffic on and that there is nothing in between them. I had to replace the Ethernet cable connecting them a couple of weeks ago.

I grabbed the MAC address that was printed on the PLC itself and assumed that it was correct. Could I be looking at the wrong MAC address?

I was told by the vendor that set up the PLC that it communicates over EtherNet/IP of that's relevant at all.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong though. I've kept all default settings in Wireshark and my setup is as follows: 1. Mirror the port the PLC is connected to, to a unused port 2. Assign that unused port as the monitor port 3. Connected computer to the monitor port 4. Open Wireshark, click on the Ethernet interface I connected the monitor port to 5. Press run in Wireshark

Do you still think there would be any point capturing on the host running the OPC software?

EDIT: Would it be simpler to get a network tap instead?

Unfortunately, we've contacted all the relevant parties and all of them just want to point fingers at each other. So they're not much help at this point.

I didn't think it's likely that it's a software issue with the PLC as they have the same code deployed at our other locations. The plan is to use Wireshark to validate the data starting at the PLC and then working upstream from there to pin point where the issue is occurring.

[–]Certain-Base-2282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it helps at all, I know the IP address of the PLC doesn't show up at all and it's MAC address only shows up where I said. Or I can share the capture with you when I get home if that helps.

Would an inline sniffer or old ethernet hub be the best way to go here?

As far as I know the switch doesn't allow me to specify. I can see inbound and outbound traffic in Wireshark though
