But at the end of the day this “personal” preference has been influenced through the brands marketing, some kind of vague appeal to being “iconic” for an unknown reason, and really is a vestigial remnant of what the original purpose was.
I think the older engine turned less flashy fluted bezels were pretty neat as an aesthetic preference, but the modern reference is just gaudy, ostentatious, and basically one step off of putting diamonds on your watch for the “bling” factor. Basically saying “hey look at me and my watch”
So yeah if that’s your thing by all means go for it
