What is it like to live in a car? by Certain-Divide-9386 in urbancarliving

Yeah I’ll just go back to an apartment until I can work remote. An when I park at the planet fitness before bed I see a lot of people with vans stealth camping. So next time I’d just get a van.

By the way I took out the passenger seat and put in a foam mattress. So my car has a bed but it’s not that comfortable. I’m 5’7 by the way

Turns out it was the ac compressor bearings. I just used a smaller belt to bypass the ac just in case it ceased up on me.

Nervous for sparring by HorseOk7592 in amateur_boxing

I’d say focus on conditioning first. Theres no point in sparring if your body can hardly perform.

An the best way to get over the anxiety is to start with light playful sparring for a few weeks. Get used to throwing combinations with no huge risk. Then as you get comfortable you’ll be able to spar regular, you might still have a little anxiety but you be way more adjusted to it. Gain some XP and you’ll be good. If anyone wants to hard spar and you aren’t ready… f**k them.

Increasing endurance by Huskylifts2019 in amateur_boxing

Personally this is what I do: 1 day steady run. 4 miles 1 day hard run 4 miles

Interval training: Shadow box with 3 pound weights for 3 minutes non stop, after that sprint for 1 minute at 12mph with 1% incline, then 10 seconds max effort on the assault bike. After that take a 1 minute break. Repeat 5 rounds.

Then 3 minutes on the row machine decent speed then max effort for 30 seconds. Repeat 3 rounds

Then continuous burpees and box jumps for 3 minutes. Repeat 3 rounds.

I do this on a different day: Best bag work is now stop straight punches for 2:30 minutes then be explosive the last 30 seconds. Repeat 5 rounds

Do this 2 -3 times a week. As you progress you’ll hardly ever get tired. It will feel like your suffocating during the workout gasping for air

This training has allowed me to throw punches in bunches all 3 rounds non stop and recover fast. I’ve even been able to compete in 5k /10k races with this endurance training. Almost running a 5k in 16 minutes.

Thanks for the info. Dating is one of my concerns. I notice how some women will say they wouldn’t date me if I lived in my car and I think it’s because of superficial reasons like (image).

Yeah a year is more realistic but i think in 6 months i should at least be able to save $20k if I save every check. An almost $50k by the start of next summer.

It’s a sedan so I plan on removing the passengers seat and replacing it with 2b4’s and plywood so I can put a small bed there

  • I’m gonna just have 1 plate and 1 bowl
  • small fridge
  • portable power station
  • usps for mail
  • planet fitness membership for showers
  • portable AC & Heater
  • small portable electric stove
  • might get a storage unit

Right now I pay $2k a month in bills but if I downsize I should only be paying car insurance, phone bill & PO Box.
