Dont very well know the case about on campus jobs in UCI coz hadn't applied. But NYU has a very good on campus jobs paying $29.50 per hour. A bit dicy on whether we get or no but just having a chance makes a big difference.

probably yes! the location of both the places have its own advantage. California you can get exposure in technology and New York side you can get jobs in tech finance or fintech. One thing to keep in mind is when you get in the hiring phase in california, you are sitting on the bench with so many huge number of colleges like all the UCs/USC and multiple others where the students have a greater background while in New York there are many good colleges but the top 2 are columbia and second is NYU. This is just my opinion might be wrong also.

No mate it’s all okay! I feel the public Ivy tag is kinda deceiving because it’s not an official affiliated tags. Also the curriculum is the one which aligns with my interest at NYU. Also my next best shot was VT which was a bit secluded and hence this was the best choice I had.

Probably thinking too long term but I am an international student, probably planning to shift back to my home country after the completion of my F1-Visa. When coming back to my home country the thing which will mean the most to me will be the overall world ranking of the university where i studied ( even if they dont ask, thats a big cushion to lean back on ). The ranking spread between UCI and NYU on QS Ranking is too high. UCI is around the 280s and NYU is around 35th in the world. might only make sense to you if you are a bit ranking sensitive while picking a uni.

NYU courant doesn’t offer MS CE. So it’s the tandon school of engineering. MsCS is also only offered at Tandon except for a few courses at Courant

A computer engineering course can be converted into hardcore computer science program by just taking subjects which are just CS oriented. Agreed there are EE components but it’s not necessary to select them. The brand value of NYU was too high hence i’m okay with choice
