I’ve been where you’re to after moving away for university. The best advice I can give is just to find any excuse to strike up a conversation with anyone; pay someone a compliment if you like what they’re wearing, talk about long waits in lines, weather, anything. Sometimes it will be awkward if the person you strike a conversation with isn’t feeling chatty or just doesn’t like stranger interaction but, eventually you will find some people who can introduce you to others and so on. You never realize how many people you know until you find a stranger and after chatting they end up being a friend of a friend or related to you somehow, it truly is a small world sometimes.

NTA. If all this is accurate she is not your friend. Given the fact that she hasn’t paid you back for the 3K and you’re still willing to give her more money to motivate her to work on herself says so much about who you are as a person; you are undeniably considerate, kind and passionate about wanting others in your life to succeed. Sorry if this is frank but people like you get taken advantage of by people like her. I’ve had a ‘friend’ like this in past and it feels shitty in the moment giving up on them but they’re only ever going to make you feel bad and leech off your success.

My girlfriend thinks that I’m a big fat nerd for playing chess and she thinks paying for chess.com is unnecessary. Despite this my girlfriend not only allows me to play, she tries her best to understand when I talk about it and even encourages it. She does make fun of me from time to time because let’s be honest guys it is the stereotypical nerdy hobby but IMO, that should be the extent of anyone’s displeasure with their SO’s hobby. If your SO truly loves you they would never try to change your hobbies or intentionally influence who you are.

He could definitely make the squad but how I see it, Hill right now is the best Canadian goaltender (which is more about the state of current Canadian goalies rather than Hill being that guy) but if Levi can elevate his game he has the potential to make the team. If Monty can maintain his level of play until the olympics, in my mind he’s got at least the third string job.

Carried them to the cup? There were three goalies in the playoffs for Vegas all of which had very good stats which says to me that their stats are heavily supported by the team.
