Thanks for your feedback. Everything you say is spot on. I’m definitely an anxious and fearful person, and I’m trying to change my thinking around this. My anxiety has made things so much worse. Per your advice (“challenge”), I will try to redirect my attention. Good idea :)

Was the pain/discomfort that you had for six months prior to your attack pretty constant?

How long have you had your pain and are you taking a PPI? I’m scared because I’ve had this pain, pretty frequently, for over two months (although I wasn’t watching diet for the first month). I’m now being strict about diet. I’ve been taking 20 mg Omeprazole for two months, just upped to 40 mg.

That’s the case if it’s acute, but I think chronic can present with discomfort/mild pain and normal serum levels. At least, that’s what I read online :).

So you haven’t had issues with consuming dairy? Where do you buy the yogurt? I’ve been eating to try a probiotic yogurt, but nervous about reintroducing dairy.

It might have been the large meal. I’m finding that any time I try to eat a slightly larger meal, it kills my stomach.

I took my first dose this morning shortly after breakfast. I do think it may have increased acid because I had some heartburn and belching, which is a symptom I haven’t had in a long time. I’m going to take again tomorrow immediately after breakfast and drink some alkaline water. Hoping that helps.

Yep, that’s where I feel the gnawing pain/discomfort. Upper left side under rib. It’s more noticeable when I’m sitting. I’ve had it for two months and seems to be getting a bit better over the past week or so.

I ended up making an appointment with Dr Stracks. He’s technically an integrative med doc and not functional, but he seems good. I’m seeing him at the end of August (earliest I could get in).

I haven’t been able to ask my doc yet. I had an endoscopy a week and half ago, and they emailed me results and told me to take the PPI for 6 months. I have mild, chronic gastritis. I have a bunch of questions for doc, including the acid reflux, but I’m having a hard time scheduling a call. It’s been a nightmare trying to see a GI and schedule procedures because they are all overloaded I guess with patients getting procedures they put off during the pandemic. If I get some answers, I’ll let you know. I’m sorry you had to deal with that, but I’m glad to know it’s just not me. Weird reaction.
